Bonzo
To be fair to him. IF comments were made about his deceased father then he would have every right to be angry and any comments made in the heat of the moment could have been excusable. BUT he still SHOULD be acting as the World Champion ambassador for the sport and should not be making comments afterwards on social media about it, he should have shown he was a "bigger person" then those (allegedly) making the comments, but he didn't and has shown himself to be just as bad as them. If you're being fair to him, you'll stop trying to use this World Champ guff as an excuse for him not to behave like a human. He would have been within his rights to go into the crowd and thump the big mouth tosser. Imagine if he did? You'd have passed out at such a horror! FAST GATER
What a great meeting and a wonderful track and arena the NSS will become speedway's jewel in the crown in this country well done to both teams for putting on a great show. Tai is like marmite as far as I am concerned and I will leave it there ,the Cookie thing was sheer theatre to me and was the icing on the cake never DULL MOMENT last night as has been said would fill places every week if all meetings were like that. The only sad part for me was the inevitable retirement of PK you almost felt he could have gone on forever but all good things come to an end and what an end it was with probable his best display for a couple of years.Even in the first heat my heart was in my mouth as he appeared to be charging past the opposition like 20yr old and on that rocket ship engine. He managed that outrages pass to win a race as well ,that memory will stay with us all that have admired this amazing rider who in reality has had almost twice the average speedway career at the very top . I make no apology for this embellishment of rider who was never a world champ( but could beat one on his day) was unilaterally respected by his fellow professionals and remained modest and respectful to the end.He appeared almost embarrassed when be interviewed after heat 15 with that great smile polite manner and I wonder whether we will ever see his like again . Best wishes PK from all the fans you have thrilled and earned the respect of during your incredible and long career Edited October 6, 2016 by FAST GATER

damosuzuki
I'm about to watch this again, start to finish. It was pure theatre and Belle Vue does look good when it's full. Next year I really really really need to get down to the EL final.

stevebrum
Tai is definitely worse. nowhere near close. He is like the worst role model ever! Can not handle getting booed that is Nicki is more of a man, at least Nicki embraces it! the difference is Tai is loved by many especially his British fans. The only cheers you ever see for the dirty dane is in Denmark. I meant in attitude! 2010 is six years ago, Darcy gradually got better each year regarding growing up, attitude improving. Whereas Tai gets worse! completely laughable. Darcy got worse each year until his ban was up. Short memory problem Lisa. So the Belle vue fans were idiots were they.I was in the grandstand the only chant i herd was who are ya and some boos just banter. In responce Wofinden used hand signals and calls us scum on social media.Guess who i think is the idiot The belle Vue fans giving him grief were equally as guilty then. Remember he was only calling a small section idi*ts so don't assume he was calling 'us' out unless you were one of them then my sympathy is limited. THE DEAN MACHINE
What planet you on? It was never worse than it is now.Riders seems to think that now there is the air safety fence they can take more risks. if you think I'm wrong then you need a speedway history lesson, some of the riders around in the 70s make today's riders look like pussycats ,

Chanting is part of most sports it creates an atmosphere which is sadly missing in speedway these days.I am sure every one in the stadium heared the harmless chanting it was that loud.Where i struggle is how did woffy hear all these personal insults as i did not it was to noisy so how Woffy heard them down on the track with all the other noise plus bike noise and with his helmet on i dont know. Aces51
if you think I'm wrong then you need a speedway history lesson, some of the riders around in the 70s make today's riders look like pussycats , You are right about that. In the 60's and 70's it was common and expected that riders wouldn't leave room for anyone to pass them going down the straights. With one or two exceptions they wouldn't deliberately fence someone but knowing a gap wouldn't be left riders didn't usually put themselves in a position where they might be fenced. Soren Sjosten had the answer at Hyde Road he would just head down the middle of the back straight and then forget to turn left until the last minute leaving whoever was on his outside by the fence to either shut off or bale out. Gavan
Cant really believe people are up in arms about Tai. He called a small section of fans idiots He got abuse about his late father............scum is probably to nice a word to direct at someone like that. So apparantly Tai should act differently as a World Champion ...ah bless..........all he did was react to what was happening and apart from a few idiots thats totally fine. Someone has the cheek to say Hancock is a role model, well if clothes lining someone of their bike is an example then thats a tad strange. Good on Woffinden on giving some back and the Belle Vue fans who enjoyed the banter. Personally i wanted Belle Vue to win as they topped the table but congratulations to the Wolves And what an atmosphere........the best there has ever been in a grand final for sure
Mark
If Woffinden got abuse about his father he had every right to say and do what he did. Good on him for making a stand on unacceptable fan abuse. 99.99% of fans are decent but there will always be some fool who can't stop himself being an idiot. SCB
One of the guys I work with watched last nights meeting. He loved it and wants to see more speedway, he's disappointed the season is over apart from a single GP. He also asked what the deal was with Woffinden, which made me wonder, what was the deal with Woffy? Why was he booed?

Of course chanting is part of an atmosphere. What was apparent that this was above and beyond regular chanting. If you keep goading someone and if the rumours are true that his late father was included in the abuse then it's no wonder he responded. Sometimes you really do get what you deserve (not aimed at you specifically just anyone that was part of the abuse). It seems clear to anyone watching the sky broadcast that there was obviously bad blood spilled out towards to Tai so it's no wonder he heard it. He loved it and wants to see more speedway, he's disappointed the season is over apart from a single GP. He also asked what the deal was with Woffinden, which made me wonder, what was the deal with Woffy? Why was he booed? As said earlier, this was all a pre-meditated plan from Belle Vue to try and unsettle Woffinden. If you had been there you would have heard the announcer RELENTLESSLY telling everyone how Wolves had acted outside the spirit of the sport how ridiculous it was that a World Champion was riding at No 4. It was constant. Then there is the issue of them listing him in the program with a higher average than any of the Wolves riders allowing some fans to believe he was riding there illegally... a viewpoint enforced by the sarcastic comments made when announcing the riders in the race in each and every one of his races, suggesting that it was wrong he was in that position. I'm not complaining about it, it actually made victory all the more sweeter. The Belle Vue fans around us on the back straight found it all somewhat cringeworthy (the announcer that is).

Popular Post BWitcher
Right enough of this negative rubbish. Last night was my first visit to the NSS and I cannot praise it highly enough. The whole night was fantastic from start to finish, brilliant stadium, fantastic view and absolutely brilliant racing. The atmosphere was electric, totally out of this world. I'm still buzzing about it now, I've re-watched Heat 13 at least fifteen times and I still get excited by it. Nigel and Kelvin did a great job commentating on it too and conveying the excitement of the race. Yet here we are the morning after a meeting that showed that when it's done right, speedway is the greatest, most exciting, most exhilarating sport in the world and the thread is STILL full of people whinging. If you can find faults with last night, speedway isn't for you. Time to stop pretending to be a fan and go find something else to do with your time. So Belle Vue fan got on Tais back, he gave it back to them. Bloody Brilliant! A very small % were out of order, but forget that, the night overall was magnificent. Tai made some comments on social media.. again, who cares? It's only good for the sport.. as and when the next time he goes there as an away rider, it will be great, people will want to be there to see him get beat. That's what the sport needs more of! So for once can't speedway fans actually celebrate something special? There really is no hope for the sport otherwise.
ouch
At least Tai can get a job as a spy when he hangs up his kevlars. If he can pick out one or two knob heads allegedly giving him grief about his Dad whilst on a motorbike with a helmet on and a few thousand fans shouting "who r yer" at the top of their voices then he could pick out vital secrets in various locations around the world. The only thing that would stop him is if it's all BS from the ringers apologists.
moxey63
Wolves deserved winners over the two legs... but the win-at-all-costs mentality of speedway in bringing Woffenden back leaves a sour taste and really questions why fans bother with anything that happens before August, when riders can be signed purely for the "business part of the season." Woffenden upsets some because there's a myth doing the rounds... that he has used British Speedway. Belle Vue fans were naturally annoyed last night... because he had only afforded them his presence because his racing diary was throwing out all sorts of blank pages. Wolves fans, and who can blame them, welcome anyone who can score the points. Cracking occasion though. But is it worth devaluing all that has gone before? And, yes, Tai created a lot of interest last night and will encourage Belle Vue fans to turn up and jeer him, whenever he graces these shores again. That is good for the sport... a flashback to the Kenny Carter days perhaps.
