Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...

Total disgrace that an entire league campaign can be decided because of one bad night. I don't buy that Play-off's add excitement, we are all sat here waiting for the inevitable to happen later.

Maybe lady luck will be on Belle Vue's side, but should an entire season long campaign need 'luck' on one night? No.

I don't think bad luck came into it on Monday, Wolves wanted it more than some of the Aces riders showed. I like the play-offs but it's nerve wracking when you're team is involved.

The good thing about tonight is that it's at the best track in the country and the weather has been more than kind, whatever the result I'm sure we are in for some exciting heats, can't ask for much more to bring the curtain down on the season.

Come on Aces, time to step up and do the impossible.

Agree. The only bad luck we had the other night was the e/f to Richie. That was evened out by Stevie jumping the start and winning a race! Hopefully we can at the very least give the Wolves a bit of a scare tonight and keep it interesting till the latter heats.

Hope I'm wrong, but its a forgone conclusion....imo

Zagar and Nicholls the weak links tonight....imo

As opposed to Tai and Freddie being pretty damn hot round that place!

Howarth will give Jacobs a run for his money, so dont bank on the '2' 5-1's that everyones predicting ?

Just hope the track has plenty of grip, just like it did for the WTC FINAL and NOT like it didnt, for the WTC play off!!!

P.s I also get fed up of Tai blaming moisture in the air ??? just like he did last weekend in Torun ???

Erm.... think you have it mixed up. The boring race off was over grippy.

SWC final was slick

Gutted about Monday but now looking forward to tonight again. Best stadium and race track in the UK, biggest elite crowd of the season anywhere, i expect it to be top class racing tonight. I don't think we will get close on aggregate unfortunately, so just hoping we can get the home win and finally get the final leg hodoo off our backs.

Im going Aces 48 Wolves 42.

Ah dear..

Let me explain this simply for you.

It's not as simple as saying "Oh they finished top therefore they should be champions"..

If there were no playoffs things can turn out very differently. As the season reaches its climax the pressure increases and some teams wouldn't do so well..

You also keep forgetting, Belle Vue finished top because they won at Wolves the night Kylmakorpi scored 0 0 0.. A normal score for him that night, Wolves win and they're top so the difference between the teams over the season is negligible.

If you're suggesting that Belle Vue have choked under the pressure, as they did last year in the 1st leg, then you're defeating your own argument that they would have won the league if playoffs weren't around.

Wasn't it the other way round?

Pretty sure the problem in the race off was there was so much grip the riders were too quick.

You are correct regarding the track.

Chris Morton told me that they had opened the West stand re sale of tickets on Monday,

Thanks managed to swop my tickets today at Stadium

Nah disagree. Not anyone but Belle Vue fault they croaked when it mattered. Don't remember much sympathy for Poole in 2010 finishing 24 points clear of Coventry and it happening to us. Just have to take it on the chin and come back stronger. We did in 2011.

Tough for Belle Vue but so many sports end a season in playoffs. The NFL have playoffs and that's one of the worlds biggest sports.

Lets hope for some great racing tonight and Belle Vue putting up a fight, to make up for the dull first leg.

But isn't American footballs super bowl played for by the AFL and NFL league winners?? I would imagine they would get a league winners trophy or medals, if so not the same as speedway where the league winners get naff all!! And don't tell me how football has play offs, as that is for THIRD place not first or even second!!!!

You're kind of close - there's two conferences in the NFL made up of 16 teams each, called the AFC and NFC. The Playoffs go Wildcard, Divisional, Conference Championship and then Super Bowl. So, yes you can win 'something' so to speak but to be honest, nobody remembers the Conference Championship if you lose the Super Bowl......
