Lord Lucan
Comfortable win in the end really after looking, early doors, that Redcar were going to make a fist of it!! Unfortunately, it fell away into just one of those nothing to race for meetings, a few good races but on a track that more "admired" the effort of riders rather than reward them brought few passes to entertain another sparse crowd? Always the same, when you would like a few extra fans back, test the water for next year, up pops a meeting like this and a farce for a finish to just rub your nose in it, events like this don't encourage people to watch speedway, Comets can only beat what's in front of them but when you read that the opposition had all but walked out prior to the completion of the match thus short changing the paying public it makes the sport a laughing stock, the excuses may be valid but the face value is what get's talked about? Nice to see the old Kenneth Hansen back tonight, where's he been these last few weeks, I've missed those round the fence blasts lately, Wells looked good, Campton showing he can actually ride quickly, when he wants to, Roynon solid enough but a bit disappointing from Vissing and Williamson, didn't look sharp tonight and missed out a little bit on the points fest!! So, just the LC semi then, weather permitting as there's now no Ian Thomas Trophy match to bother about and that's us for another year and a Winter wondering whether we'll be back and, who with and, the hope that it might just be our turn next to get it right? Halifaxtiger
Fantastic professionalism then! FFS. Sod the fans. Redcar should be heavily fined. Thanks for the answers guys. Quite agree and in all the meetings I have done over the last few years I don't think I have ever seen a team put one rider out in heat 15. Decent enough meeting (especially for a very low key end of season one) , with Hansen the star of the show. screm
The sooner Havelock is out of Redcar the better.
topaz325
Yes very strange only 3 riders in ht 15, some good races last night with Kenneth Hansen the star of the show The Bears kept it close in the first half of the meeting but ran out of steam later. An all round good performance from the comets but I can see us struggling to beat Glasgow next week if all the boys are not on top form. Good entertainment trying to catch the rabbit on the rugby pitch!!All turned out well and he was released outside.... I hope Crowd looked to be quite poor , maybe 600 at best? Speedway journeyman got a mention Halifax Tiger

Decent enough meeting (especially for a very low key end of season one) , with Hansen the star of the show. Michael Breckon the ref, was not best pleased after the meeting, and before the NJL 125cc mini meeting. Apparently Havvy snr was there, although I never saw him. comet49
Havelock was in the bar after the meeting, definitely there.
foamfence
Havvy's explanation of Heat 15 was that Jorgensen wouldn't do it as he'd hurt his arm, Andersen had blown an engine as had Busch. The reserves weren't eligible. Bit of a farce really. Isn't it usual for 'team mates' to borrow/lend a bike in such a situation?
soupy
Quite agree and in all the meetings I have done over the last few years I don't think I have ever seen a team put one rider out in heat 15. It happened at Newcastle last week with only 3 riders at the tapes for heat 15 as Lewis Kerr was programmed but was excluded on 2 minutes but did not even make the effort to come out, everybody else had virtually packed up. Yes, but Lewi was replaced by Chris Widman, the guest reserve, so at least four riders went to the tapes for heat 15. As far as I can tell, Redcar only nominated the one rider to be in heat 15 last night.
mikebaker
The Promotion are a joke. No mention why Bellego and Skidmore were not riding. Do any Comets fans know. Ther was no preview of the meeting on the Bears official website or Facebook page.

Yes you are correct but was Chris Widman actually elegible as he was not one of the top 3 scorers& also was not top 3 by average but I suppose he was coming in as a reserved replacement so makes a bit of mockery of heat 15.Time to bring start money back. Heavens NO. Riders just making starts and parking up rather than give the ride to someone who wants to ride.

A reserve can replace a rider disqualified for failing the two minutes in heat 15. At least Scunthorpe nominated two riders in heat 15 and we had four riders in heat 15 last week, unlike the farce of last night. As far as I'm concerned Redcar have brought the sport into disrepute and should be fined (unless they were last night by the meeting referee).

Yep I never thought about that I was thinking it might make them want to ride in heat 15 so I can see your point now.

BenR195
The reason Redcar only had 1 rider is because Jonas had blown an engine after heat 14 and Jørgensen had injured his shoulder, everybody else's bikes were took apart and put away because they weren't eligible for heat 15 so Jonas couldnt even use someone else's bike, that's where the whole top 3 averages or top 3 scorers on the night is a bad rule, you should be able to choose from any of the 7 riders in the team and it will stop things like this happening

BenR195
How many riders only have 1 bike nowadays!!!!! Like I said bikes were getting stripped and put away his 2nd bike was there but hadn't been used all night so engine was cold, had no time to warm engine up and get it all setup ready, if he'd of rode that bike he'd of ended up with 2 blown engines that night, who's gonna pay for that, doesn't come cheap, Jonas would of done it if he could as would Jørgensen if he was fit enough to do it
