I don't see why there isn't an enforced admission fee set in stone by the BSPA at the start of each season, so every club would charged the same. Extra insensitive should be directed to families environment offering Man and Wife with children under 12 a set fee: (£35.00 family ticket approx.),

Would you have to bring some proof of marriage to get the offer? And what about gay couples with children? Would they be charged full whack?

It's something I always wanted Coventry to do. Coventry has two big universities with 55,000 students between them (and expanding). They did a student offer for £5 but not sure it was promoted, a huge market there!

Birmingham was the same mate. They had a big uni up the road but cannot recall if they ever did it ?

with the purpose built uni flats behind the bus station that area is already on the uni bus route.could easily drop off at the stadium, just need to offer special deal for certain matches,or dare i say free entry(hope matt ford doesnt hurt himself if he reads that and falls over!!)horse racing has really tried to attract the students with some amazing success

Yeh what i call the X Factor generation, who wouldn't know one end of a horse to the other and like a drink or 6..

I have kids aged 6 and 8, and if there was a speedway track near me I would happily pay 4 quid each for them - very reasonable imo.

Go to the zoo, or a kids concert, and you pay a lot more than that for them.

Agree with those who suggest targetting unis, especially those where the bar profits go to the club. Charge a fiver entry,or ten quid and first pint free to get them into the bar.

Many don't though, that's the problem. Speedway doesn't appeal to youngsters anymore, and many other sports are suffering in this 'stay in the bedroom' digital age. Kids at uni wouldn't go even if you picked them up and let them in for free in my experience..

Horse racing has had great success in attracting under 18s, so has ice hockey and athletics.

Only problem is mate 99% are clueless and like to drink.. But they are bookmakers benifits..

Trust me, if you make it free people will go.

This was proposed at poole with someone offering to organise the coaches.

It was rejected.

Ford has got it spot on. Nor sure the KL promotion dug their heels in over Chris Holder in the same way who I guess would have to live in Poland in order to get a work permit if UK speedway adopted Fords position. The Poles should not be allowed to dictate to all and sundry so well done to MF for showing the way it should be handled.

Bad news for the Good Friday meetings. Likely there will be no KK at either meeting due to the Polish Golden Helmet. If KK qualifies which is likely, it clashes with the Somerset meetings. As an official Polish meeting we will have a facility but on such a day the choice will be limited.

Good night was had by all. Plenty of good questions and answers. Christina will be happy to get home.. :t:

Sorry but I don't agree with some of Matt's chatter. Excuses is what I call it. Going on about flights and stuff! What's that got to do with children's admissions? Speedway has not always been expensive. It's a relative thing. The fact is we used to get more races anyway. The second halves used to give you that complete evening. And if people want quick meetings then I shall have to consider why am i paying such and such for less time and races at speedway. I can accept adult prices for now but not children's prices at Poole! If everyone else can keep low prices then why can't Matt? Didn't hear his answer to that. Its a fact that the cost for a family to attend speedway and the show put on isn't value for money any longer.

Surely if it is your business you sell your product at a price you chose.

I personally think it's not right but as Matt Ford is the owner it's up to him.
