Don't think GP Greg or Wozniak would fit average wise i'm assuming any rider coming in who has an established average would have that average multiplied by 1.4.

Why would new riders come in with a 1.4 multiplied average if clubs are no longer building to 50 points?

Walasek and Wozniak both have averages below 6.00 from their last stint (2016) at Leicester.

The real coup would be if Matt could persuade his earlier target Milik to drop Sweden and come in on his 5.67 average. That would no doubt get the forum going into overdrive again.

I think there should be a multiplier for riders coming back to the league. Not at 1.4 though, maybe a little lower. My reason for this would be simply because it is a weaker league this season. So those coming back achieved their averages in a slightly tougher league so should find points easier to come by.

Isn't that supposed to be home advantage, according to SS?

Because they are coming in on old existing Elite averages and the current averages are based on championship or existing premier averages.

Matt Ford is a shrewd enough business man to see the writing on the wall for British speedway. No one in their right mind is going to pump money in to a dying sport.

Sad but true.

And interestingly, he has recently been hinting that he may be moving away from the sport in the next couple of years ;)

Never understood why speedway hasn't moved away from the 'promoter' aspect and not had a business style of directors.

It would probably remove the self interest syndrome that has blighted the sport for too many years.

I know that the majority of teams do not own their own stadia but it can't be good for the sport having the outdated funfair style of management.

But also in the last year there has been rumours of Matt Ford taking over elsewhere, not sure I believe it though.

Fair play to Starman he's in an awkward position what with volunteering at the Stadium but has the balls to say it like it is re the track and seeming not as assured or taking the future of the stadium for granted unlike one or two that the above post describes
