SteveLyric2
Whether any 'extra pressure' from one or two forum fans has any effect on either of them - I doubt very much!! For their club promoter to refer to them as potentially being 'the new Turbo Twins', does put a little pressure on them - and why shouldn't it??!! Riders should have pressure on them to do a decent job, ride to their abilities, improve and increase their averages. Nothing wrong in that - its how most sports work! In any case, what is said publicly is often not what is said privately to the riders themselves - unless they are underperforming?!

Ahh, but not all people/riders perform to their optimum when put under pressure. See K.Bjerre and play-offs!
Starman2006
Fair enough there are some similarities. However, the question is, does giving this moniker to them add extra pressure (which they don't need). I think the simple answer is yes it does. I wouldn't want any Wolves rider to be labelled the next anything. As for the word odd, please replace with 'baffling' Matt did say they could be the next Turbo twins, not are. There is a difference..
Gavan
Matt did say they could be the next Turbo twins, not are. There is a difference..correct. But if a young footballer is labelled the next Messi he is under the spotlight. Which is exactly what these 2 are now
Starman2006
correct. But if a young footballer is labelled the next Messi he is under the spotlight. Which is exactly what these 2 are now They have been dubd that for the last few years so i really don't think its going to bother them. Gavan
Yes they have. But some of us are prepared to give them a chance..nothing to do with giving them a chance which is would should happen anyway. Nobody before this season has called Kurtz and Holder the new turbo twins. Turbo twins is associated with Poole so until these 2 riders are in the same team at Poole they couldn't be compared. You trying to say that 2 years ago they had that moniker?? Get real
foreverblue
Yes they have. But some of us are prepared to give them a chance..Never heard them being called the new turbo twins until recently and that is only because one half of the original turbo twins is riding for Kings Lynn next season

Ovalman
After the first round of the Oz champs would be a long way off comparing the young duo to Darce and Noddy.

Get real Chris Holder was the first to refer to them as potentially the new Turbo Twins during last year's Aussie Championships which Brady won! They have both grown up together in the Holder/Ward circle of riders, with Darcy sponsoring Brady and Chris obviously assisting his brother, which they will continue to do in 2017. Lets just hope that the 'Turbo Twins' nickname remains the aim for their future on-track aspirations and performances. Nobody - least of all the majority of Poole fans - is looking at them as a replacement NOW for the originals. Its all about potential for the future. poole keith
really pleased theyre both in the poole team this yr,however this "turbo twins"label is a bit stupid and shouldnt be encouraged by the management (in progs or press for example)i know its just a bit of attempted hype for the club.what is the chance of one of them being world class(say top 8 in gp series) let alone both??pretty slim id say.they need their own identities not hijack 2 other riders

stevebrum
How about the Thompson twins. A slightly less successful band of the 80's compared to some of the huge bands to come from that genre? I'll get my coat.
