Joe Beevers
He should have ridden PL this year, he was given the opportunity by at least one club. Oh the wonder of hindsight. Â I think Adam and Matt had they known that the year before the regulations would have done that if they could as they both obviously wanted each other to ride for Poole on a National League average the following season. Â For once, I would say the loophole karma bit Poole before they knew it but it is harsh on Adam.
ray c
Agree 100000000000% percent lol.     Poor team tbh no real 2nd Heat leader.  NEW POST  The team I predicted could be bang on the money.  1. Andersen, 2. Starke, 3. B. Kurtz, 4. J. Holder, 5. Harris, 6. Newman & 7. Perks  I know I have got 4 right (Brady, Hans, Jack & Kyle).  its just the second Heat Leader.  Plenty of options (Harris Kennett & R. Lambert) to name a few. Joe Beevers
How do you know a vote was not taken on the matter?! Really? Â Can I visage 10 grown men sat in circle saying 'Oh and onto the next case, case 243 of this long day is the so called average of Adam Ellis. Shall we start the voting at say 3. Oh that's 3, I hear from Poole, oh we have 5 points from Belle Vue and Kings Lynn, oh raised to a proper EL average of 7.80 from Swindon, Wolves and Coventry, do I have any more bids?'. Â I would love to know how they vote (including the FIM and there wildcard selections every year but for once they got it right) each year on these matters. Â I am only going on what Skidder was it, posted to be honest.
stevebrum
We would have won the title if we not had Buckowski. Â Rubbish in the play offs but did his job the rest of the year. Â We would have won title if we were the best team simples Only one team won when it mattered, the best.
Joe Beevers
I like the Jack P Blackburn addition. Talking of Jack P, I bet his phone is more crammed with calls than Kim Kardashian's is.  And no wonder. Look at the result of the last meeting between Eastbourne vs Birmingham.  Jack P Blackburn scores 19. Gets a 2 point average  Adam Ellis scores 12. Gets a 7.8+ average.  As has been said and you cannot argue the point that Ellis did score a lot of his points from the number two slot.  But this shows the value of signing Jack P Blackburn.

Grachan
Gutted for Poole fans. You can tell how upset they are by the way they have all camped out on the Swindon thread because that's where the World class riders now ride. Â No genuine world stars now at this once great club. A sad day for the sport. Hopefully Holder will still ride in the UK. Â To quote a former Poole and Swindon number one: "No holder at Poole no me at Poole. What even is speedway in U.K. Anymore such a shame" Â Regarding Ellis, I would have thought he could have had an exemption of the 1.4 increase on the basis that he rode in the National League last year. They could easily make this a general rule rather than a rule specific to one rider.

Ellis had an elite league average so treat him the same as all the other elite league riders if not you are opening a can of worms for the future

Joe Beevers
.........so you don't know!I have stated what I know in my post. I am not a member of the BSPA.  Why is the sky blue? You haven't contributed any facts against this and I am highlighting a statement made on the thread.  For all I know, Donald Trump could have intervened at the AGM and made the rules up. You can be very sure all the promoters in this league didn't vote for this outcome... So that is two posts.  Love to know where you gentleman are getting your hearsay from.  I will hold my opinion firm as already stated. mdmc82
 He's not.  BV - first time riding the track this season.  Cov - Can get around Brandon easily  KL - The same as Coventry  Leic - The same as Coventry & KL  Poole - The same as the 3 above  Swindon - The same as the 4 above  Wolves - The same as the 5 above.   Hans will also be able to get around Rye House easily imo. When was the last time you watched him at Coventry 😂 Hardly gets around easy. http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/15837/coventry-poole-el-15-2016

A sad day for the sport. Â Poole could bankroll the biggest stars in the world. It's the sport you should be gutted for, not Poole. The fact the club has to stoop so low to put a competitive team together really shows you how pathetic this league has become. Â Sadly this is likely to be the first and last SGB Premiership season. I can see a lot of clubs failing to make ends meet this season off the back of these rules. Edited November 10, 2016 by BurntFaceMan
SteveLyric2
Looking at the majority of riders down to compete in British speedway, most can be bracketed a GOOD 2nd strings or FAIR 2nd and 3rd heatleaders. Each able to take points off each other. We could assemble a team of consistent riders all around the 7 mark, but not one guaranteed to max out. Whereas a strong No1 could come in and clear up. scoring 12 plus each meeting. Also, when we come to heats 10 to 15 in a tight match, to retain any hopes of success a strong No 1 is essential . Â I understand what people say about getting rid of the top riders because of costs, but that needs to be done via the rules. While they are allowed, teams will continue to use their ability to give them an advantage....... A strong No1 is essential if you want to win....... Â What? well it didn't work for Kings Lynn or Poole last season!! Â A good winning team needs every rider to contribute to the team performance. Gavan
So Holder says the averages have forced him out erm no it's your team don't want you. All the fools saying Holder couldn't maintain his 12 point average but yet are happy for a rider on the downgrade to be their number one on an average above 10! Hans will do well to average 8. Big mistake without Holder. Doyle will get Swindon 14 or 15 most meetings and from heat 10 onwards you need a big hitter. Hans will go missing a lot and will do well to get double figures in most meetings. His last 4 scores at home riding as a heat leader were 6, 6, 7, 6 hardly number 1 material!
