stevebrum
Poor meeting for the neutral, but a stunning display by Wolves. Surely one hand on the trophy now? Got to say it was a massive crowd and raucous atmosphere with the Aces fans quite rowdy early on (though they did quieten down as the meeting went on). Also had a few fun and games on the steps outside the bar after the last heat as well. One of the reasons why the play offs are such a success and brings huge crowds out. So exciting. Little surprised about the rumoured 'fight' but sadly both teams have those fans who would sink to that level. Could it be there were some sour grapes which should have been aimed at the people who failed to deliver on track? Yes he didn't have the best of starts but certainly warmed to it, same could be said of Freddie but you always know when the chips are down Freddie will come up trumps. Considering how well they have ridden there in the past it is strange the aces were found wanting and lost by so many. You may have noticed one Poole fan you can't accuse of being bitter. The Aces have always ridden the Green well so tonight was a huge shock!
Joe Beevers
I think Wolves have done enough especially with the Belle Vue track being so even. Howarth has really been a star in the playoffs and the Woffinden signing was masterstroke timing. It would be a superb effort from Belle Vue to overturn the odds and I would feel sorry for them as they have stuck by their side all season. Should be a fascinating grand finale. BWitcher
What a brilliant night from the perspective of a Wolves fan, not sure where Shovlar gets the no cheering from but there was an excellent atmosphere all night. It's certainly far from over as if the setups aren't quite right at the NSS the Aces can pull pts back quickly as unlike tonight they won't be carrying any riders. All seven can score big points. It may well be that we are the one carrying riders as Clegg will find it difficult to score there (to say the least) and Howarth hasn't impressed on previous visits. It's interesting to see the comments made, not by Belle Vue fans I must add, that Belle Vue were 'by far the best team' this season. The reality is Wolves and Belle Vue were pretty equal. Belle Vue finished top courtesy of their win at Wolves the night Kylmakorpi put in his zero performance. That's the only difference, so in reality nothing to choose between the teams. It's also nice to see a thread with no arguing and the majority of Belle Vue fans (ignoring the multi-aliased one doing his best to cause trouble) not resorting to sour grapes posts, simply acknowledging that tonight their team was out rode.. Wednesday night could see a reversal. Best of luck to both teams in the 2nd leg, again, I can't wait!
mikec
Back from Monmore, really disappointed, most of the lads didn't do themselves justice, frustrating! Cookie was excellent, that heat 15 summed him up, real fight (despite some plum in Gdańsk yesterday assuring me Cook is a gating tart?!). Credit to Wolves, Howarth was really good, they deserve their 18 point lead. Aces huge outsiders Weds, I give em no more than a 1 in 10 chance of pulling out an aggregate win. As Stevie Worrall said tonight, the fat lady's clearing her throat, but she ain't singing yet. Win or lose, gonna be some brilliant racing Weds night. Wednesday night could see a reversal. The simple answer to that is that they are not use to winning anything unlike the Poole fans who have been spoilt with trophies. And I only thought prawn sandwich eaters were only in Manchester (just joking Poole fans before I am jumped on.)
E I Addio
What's more amazing is someone posting that they won't reply to someone after being caught lying and then 48hours later replying to them! Is it short term memory loss? Then several posts criticise the crap track, wobbling all over the place yet you only pick my post, weird or what? Anyway, there's a pillock on Facebook who calls himself Anthony weaver (probably made up?) who has stupidly posted on the wolves fans Facebook page that's its £20 to get in at Belle Vus on Wednesday. To be fair he sounds like a complete notright and I doubt he even goes to speedway, probably a one of those divi trolls that appear on various Facebook pages stirring up trouble, but somehow he is a friend of yours, go figure? Do your proper wolves fans a favour and tell them its only £19 to get in on wednesday, you only have to pay £20 if you use tickets.com rather than ringing the ticket office or just buying on the day. No need to thank me but you need to vet your facebook friends more closely as he sounds like a proper dick, even arguing with other wolves fans. Once again the Misanthropic Misfit returns to try to spoil a perfectly enjoyable thread, venting his spleen with personal bile better confined to pm's because nobody else is interested. Maybe he has eaten too many sour grapes. Well Done Wolves, commiserations to Belle Vue. Sport is all about winners and losers. A pity someone has to come this far to collapse at (almost) the final hurdle but that's what makes it interesting. Fred, Most fans will prebook this meeting, so £20 is the entrance fee. Nothing wrong with £20 for final/top meeting. Nice to see you are scouring the Wolves Facebook page. Fantastic performance tonight following on from last weeks famous win. Dont want to get carried away but its lookig good right now!
mikebv
No complaints tonight... Cook showed true fight and leadership.. Steve and Ritchie W had their moments but sadly those three apart the rest managed just 12 between them from their 14 races.... Not really what's expected from a World Top Ten rider, the World U21 champ and a multi British Champion.. However, that's sport.... Some you win, some you lose... Wolves' top four will score at least 35 on Wednesday and probably more so I would suggest the Aces are looking at a miracle... However, that's sport.... So you never know.. Well done to Wolves tonight. If they go on to win it then it will be deserving... Edited October 3, 2016 by mikebv
BWitcher
Ah the advantage of gate three.... Wolves scored 14 of gate three in the first 14 heats, Belle Vue scored 15 and that included a ride from Jacobs. Off the other gates Wolves scored 36, Belle Vue 19 on the first 14 heats. So thank goodness for gate three keeping Belle Vue in the match eh? Of course Wolves gained three more in Heat 15 from gate three, but then Belle Vue gave up the option of picking gates.

Steve0
You would think that any team with an 18 point lead going into the second leg of the grand final would come out on top on aggregate. However, if BV can win 55-35 (which is do-able if the entire team really want it) then they will emerge champions. Well done to Wolves on their win last night - they showed their determination to win and build up a very big lead to take to the NSS. Of course you have to fancy Wolves to win overall but I'd like to think that the top team over the league season would up their game for the last throw of the dice (regardless of having their starting 1-7 - which I think is totally irrelevant). As I've said before I would like to see BV win on aggregate but wouldn't be disappointed if Wolves won it. Good luck to both teams for Wednesday. foreverblue
Who said it was? Hes so paranoid he thinks every post is about him!! Whats all the garbage about the cost at Belle Vue like a pound is going to stop anyone going from Wolverhampton!! Surely the 20 pound option is the easist option anyway for an away fan. bellevueace
We are going to have to have all seven right at the top of their game tomorrow with wolves carrying a few riders to even have a sniff, cant see it happening to be honest, in fact I think wolves could even have a chance of a double as its possible we could be that fired up we actually over ride. Appears cookie is the only one to be able to handle the pressures of these play off finals.

Appears cookie is the only one to be able to handle the pressures of these play off finals.I think Zagar can handle the pressure its just he is very up and down which is why his average is so low. I thought Fricke maybe a problem after his celebrations when he won the under 21 title and like last year he failed to deliver when needed. Cook was excellent as he was in last years final, you can tell the way he rides what it means to him. Nicholls was very poor on a track he always does well at, certainly not a captains performance and he struggles at his home track which isnt going help.Steve Worrall rode well generally but was lucky not to get pulled back as he clearly jumped the start on one occassion. Belle Vue came back well last year so maybe they can do the same but can't see how they can win overall.

mikebv
Can see the B/W helmet cover being the difference sadly.. Can see Woffy or Freddie delivering at least four points if wearing it.. Strange choice to give it Zagar who has proved time and again incapable of handling the pressure situations. (Five last night, five last year away at Poole in the Final) He also isn't great around Monmore and we had a track specialist in Cook in the same race.. Oh well.... Just need four 5-1's, two 4-2's, eight 3-3's and a 4-4 and the jobs a good 'un..😁
g13webb
Never been a lover of the Wolves track, usually prepared OK but with long straight and tight corners it gives a massive home advantage. Fans go on about lots of overtaking but most are down to mistakes, made usually by the away side. If you make a good gate and ride the track right, then your win, as proved last night many times. How many times were mistakes made when in front, Not many... BV is a totally different track, but one I should imagine far easier to ride. I cant see riders making that many mistakes, when the most important aspect is to keep the speed on the bikes The first two races highlighted the problems BV had the whole match. Heat 1 Worrall drifting from the inside to allow PK past, Heat 2 Worrall going through he tapes, two instances that said the BV riders were not dialled in. Cookie and Scott also not at the party to start with but they got better. All points to bad preparation that allow Wolves the opportunity to clear off into the distance. I thought Wolves were brilliant. From the first race they were on it and that has to be down the management team. Top marks to Pete Adams. Mark Lemon still has a lot to learn...
