Edinburgh Monarch's V Ipswich Witches Plpo Quarter Final 2nd Leg 30/9/16

Recommended Posts

Can anybody stop the witches now. surely with somerset injury problems this should be another home hammering for Somerset who do not ride the Foxhall track well. Another defending job the following night

think we may have 2nd leg on 13th.

Sure its been said that stadium not available on 6th due to big dtick car event at weekend.

So could be more a damage limitation to give someting to aim for.

Well done to Ipswich, deserved winners over 2 legs. Damage was done for the blue and gold with the performance at Ipswich. Thought Mark Riss was excellent tonight and hope he will be back next year. Season may have panned our differently if he had been in team from start of season. Think Newcastle could win the whole thing. Remember a few seasons back they topped the league but lost in the play offs so maybe pay back time. Still feel that team that tops the table are true champions but play offs can provide some great entertainment.

Isn't it strange how a thread relating too last nights meeting between Edinburgh & Ipswich can turn on it's head to lets stop Glasgow from winning anything.

Strange lot and the obsession although they deny it is bursting out.

Newcastle may very well beat us but at least we are still in it and not to mention two cups.

Well done Ipswich on there victory last night over two legs .

And for Edinburgh

No knocking Glasgow from me Gazc, a great club with some great supporters - including some from Surrey who have got a cow bell of mine! Just a personal opinion that Newcastle would progress over two legs on current form but, of course, you do have the incredible Mr Danny Ayres in your corner, and four riders in the top twenty of the PL averages.

Should be two cracking semi final legs and the Witches would look forward to meeting either team in the Final - personally I would prefer Glasgow, particularly as I know the City well and have some good friends locally and would enjoy celebrating the Witches title win there, including a wee dram in The Pot Still, and combining it hopefully with a trip to Cappielow. Its always good to see the Underdogs taking on the Favourites in a final  .

(That of course has totally dismissed the chances of Sheffield and Somerset - two admirable teams who can never be discounted and would grace any PLPO Final.)

After the start to the season the Witches endured, we are just happy to be involved still.

Our season all over then (apart from 1? Outstanding fixture).

Always going to be tough compared to other years but a decent defence. Have enjoyed this season with a lot of away teams providing some good moments. They all say can't win all the time which is true but it's damn good watching a season unfold.

We will be back next year. Will we do well? Who knows but I will enjoy my speedway win or lose.

Hope Glasgow can go on and keep the trophy up north.

Right off to Torun for me now!!

Good to hear that you will be back next year. With all the rain you've had it must have been difficult financially. It wouldn't be the same without 2 Scottish teams.

Why would we want our rivals to win anything, no thanks.

Now the obsession part who started and posted on the Edinburgh 2017 thread Glasgow fans who turned up and payed there hard earned last night to support Ipswich. Both as obsessed as each other.

We are not your rivals now you have been knocked out everything.

Surprised to see Edinburgh fan saying 'it's all over now' when they still have next Friday's visit from the Tigers to come.

No match between Tigers/Monarchs, Rangers/Celtic, Greece/Turkey or Jews/Arabs can ever be an afterthought, can it?

It is for us it is just an inconvenience with far more important fixtures, plan is let them win big to lower our averages and get out the trick dome injury free.
