New era Panthers
Ok I am going to lay it on the line, we are going to do this, it certainly won't be easy but I have a feeling about this. C'mon you Monarchs let's have a witch hunt. I have to admire your enthusiasm but I think your about to be dethroned to be honest
Alan R Horne
Well I dont worry if Edinburgh fans are optimistic or not as the facts will speak for themeslves. The Witches bless em are in wonderful form and will not let them have a sniff of pulling that enormous lead back. I suggest we will lose but who cares by 12 - 16 points. So lookout Somerset here we come.
TheScotsman
Of course we shouldn't have a chance........................... But what if....................................? The lads are already Legends so this would take their legendary status to a new Almighty Legends level. Even better than Wolves beating Poole!!

Baldyman
That's not very nice, you have probably just hurt a permanent markers feelings Are you still going macca? I've had a very kind offer of a lift, but won't know till I get to work in the morning if I'm allowed the rest of the day off.

I apologise to the permanent marker that I may have offended with my trivial remark. No, not going. Was going to drive, but something has come up (unusual for me) in my personal life and I am now keeping my powder dry for the OTA on 7th (hopefully). I didn't fancy driving there on my own anyway and still worried about 13 x 4-2's and Golden Heats - though do think this will be over by Heat 8. cyclone
Realistically, Edinburgh are highly unlikely to even get near to clawing back a 26 point deficit. The loss of Dan Bewley, given the form he was in before his injury, seriously weakened the potential scoring power of the Monarchs. Still, 4th place in the PL table was better than I expected after the first month of the Season. Injuries at Play Off time can critically alter the balance, and Somerset are now looking less powerful if BWD is a long term absentee. If Lunna is likely to return for the Tigers soon, imo they will now be favourites to collect all the team silverware that's up for grabs in the PL.
TheScotsman
Cyclone is obviously right. We are highly unlikely to claw it back - but just imagine if we did! Cookie and Sedgy would be back up banging the drum! Losing the Wee Man has been a killer blow but it's an opportunity for a new couple of legends to step up. But the tractor boys will be going all out to impress the scouts from the Showground to try to win a place in the queue for the revolving door. Agree about Zummerzet - really unfortunate timing - and Tungate has maybe dropped his form a little.
crazysue
I will take my normal eek (or some would say pessimistic view) and be a little more cautious about the result. Things can and do go wrong and this IS Edinburgh, not always a happy hunting ground for us. Just as they went 26 points down at our place, it is not outside the realms of possibility that we could do the same there. We do have a great cushion to take up there but this is speedway and anything can happen (I was at Peterborough that fateful TR night in 2006 when it looked completely impossible and they ended up winning the blooming thing!) That said, I will be over the moon if we follow what is now predicted and make it through to the next round, even more so because I will have taken the more pessimistic/cautious view I'll be staying off Updates/Monchat apart from very occasional pop ins as I tend to jinx the Witches when I watch their away meetings online....

Baldyman
First few races are crucial. A couple of 5 1 against and we are in big trouble. A couple of 3 3 and then we are in cruise control

lucifer sam
Underdogs with a 26 point lead? How does that work?!!!!! A bit of the reverse psychology… in reverse! It’s noticeable how the Monarchs faithful downplay their chances, even if it’s Redcar or Plymouth or someone pish at Armadale, and then act surprised and claim it was a “win against all odds”, when it turns out that your opponents haven’t got a chance around the trick track and get humped. So I’m downplaying Ipswich’s aggregate hopes, so when they indeed clinch that win on aggregate, I can claim it was a “historic win against all odds”.
