Glasgow Vs Somerset Ko Cup Semi-final 2nd Leg, 25 Sep 2016

Tungate never completed a race today now i can't comment on any issues he had behind the scene but surely Garry May will be having a word as he looked totally dis-interested today and pulled up twice after he was outfought on the first bend.

That's true but closer to home Summers lack of form/confidence continues. He almost binned it when leading in his third ride entering the third bend under no pressure. In ht13 I didn't get the trundling round at the back, skidding playfully on the white line disinterested on what was going on ahead when a bit of effort could have caught Campton, as Garcia did earlier in the meeting. If the motor is a dud change it or borrow another. This engine thing has gone on for too long, its the time of the season to put up!

Don't know where to start after that probably the poorest meeting this season and Glasgow never really troubled today although finishing with 5 riders meant the scoreline was closer than it probably would have been.

Hope Rene & Coty aren't as bad as appeared but Rene took a sore one after Starke ran into the side off Ayres who in turn completely wiped out Rene.

Surely the Rebel fan's and they were a few deserved better than what there No 1 gave them today.

Somerset were poor apart from Josh & Wright the rest only picked up points when the home team had either injured themselfs or rode as Danny did whilst injured to be fair Campton didn't look to bad either but it is looking like Somerset again next week, I can't wait  .

Having looked at the pictures Gaz it looks like Campton cut Starke off at the first bend which unsettled him and caused him to hit Danny and then with Starke out of control he hit Rene and brought him down.

Josh Bates possibly but then again will be up the following week with Sheffield.

Bates can guest, as the rule only applies to guests appearing as a guest within 8 days. Bates riding for his own team doesn't count

That was a 'hard' meeting with tigers riders taking the brunt, some brilliant action photos on official facebook page and fans discussion facebook page. Hope Rene, coty and Danny are ok not to mention there bikes. Richie seems to be ok but his bike was a bit bent. We need them all for next weekend so rest up lads

Well Glasgow are in the KOC final. Not a classic that's for sure, some tough racing on the opening bends with one or two riders riding on the edge,

Let's hope all the wounded riders are ok, that's always priority.

Tungate damaged his shoulder in heat one according to reports which didn't help the rebels, be interesting to see if he's back up north next Sunday,

He has a semi final v Ipswich on Friday night plus the ELRC on Saturday, he scored 11 in the league match so he can ride Ashfield.

Glasgow now look to be in two finals but it's coming at a cost with riders taking sore ones along the way, let's hope for a less physical weekend ahead .

Worrying signs of austerity at Ashfield ?

1. Only 2 starting grid girls yesterday

2. 50:50 draw prize kept "in house"

3. Smaller engined red tractor taken over "round and round and round and round" duties to save fuel

4. Roary not needing to be paid to perform start dance

5. No prizes required for cancelled tandem race

Must be to pay for all the points money the boys are earning !

What was billed as the meeting of the week in the Speedway Star , failed to come close to those heights . Yes it was job done for Glasgow , and i'm delighted , but the racing was processional and the regular tractor breaks contributed to a meeting lasting 3 hours .

Somerset were ordinary , not looking like the team of the season at all . Grajczonek was his usual excellent self , but only Campton , Allen and to a lesser extent , Wright , offered any back up . After running Richie Worrall into the fence in heat 1 , Tungate made no further contribution to the Rebel's cause and Paul Starke looked a shadow of the rider compared to his two previous Ashfield outings this season .

Glasgow were solid , led superbly by rider of the season , Richie Worrall .

Hope our riders who took tumbles yesterday are ok for next weekend , Rene Bach looks the biggest worry .

He also hurt his baws on a previous visit , deserved a boot in them after riding Richie into the fence

Tungate was is own worst enemy took the Glasgow rider wide and caused the crash in my opinion , from then on he was poor to put it mildly agree about Starke seems to be the shadow of the rider he was.

An enjoyable day out at Glasgow , the racing could have been better not helped by crashes and re runs, we had to leave before ht 14 to catch or train connection.

Why no 50/50 draw ?

Oh Mason rode quite well and was good value for his points haul.😎
