Wolverhampton V Poole: El Play-off Semi-final 2nd Leg

Recommended Posts

I think some of the Poole fans need to put this is perspective. We still managed to make the play offs and were beaten by a better team, the ifs and buts if Hans was riding, Antonio is irrelevant we our out and that's that.

Poole fans have been treated to league title after league title over the past few years and the club demands success, but the sport in general needs other league winners, it is not healthy for one club to dominate the league. I think some of the fans expect success at all times and with that you often start to lose sight of the fact it isn't a win at all costs.

This forum has gone down hill with some memebers constantly taking digs at each other, and that goes for some Poole fans and also other EL clubs it's not just one sided.

This is a great sport, a sport I feel passionate about, and yes I was disappointed we got knocked out but we cannot win it every year!!

Agreed. It was unfortunate we lost key riders at the most important time but in truth we were misfiring all season and never looked convincing.

We have had a fabulous run which was always going to end sooner or later. The two teams in the final are worthy of being there. Disappointing we never made it but I am sure we will be there or thereabouts next year and one thing is for sure. Matt will always put out the best possible side he can.

Come on Starman a little humilty wouldn't go amiss.

Several factors have stopped us making it a 4 timer. Yes well done to Wolves big ask for us on that dog track, but we just ran out of options. One more 5-1 and it would have been us in the final.

Still it gives somebody else a chance to lift that new trophy, for this year. BV have been the most consistant team this season and like us last year have kept the same 7. and not like Wolves bringing in a ringer for the play off's in place of an inform rider, shocking.

I would like to see Chris Morton win it, but I think it will be close. There you go, best your going to get...

Great to see a speedy recovery for Lindback who is fit to race in the GP today.

Pretty obvious it was a problem and cost Poole any chance on Monday night of defending our lead. If anyone truly thought Poole were stronger without Lindback they know nothing of the sport. Poole had to ride with one heat leader, second strings and reserves!

We knew beforehand Holder and Buczkowski would most likely have to take r/r who are well known to be rubbish at Wolves track, so that was always going to be a problem then add in Kurtz who rode quite well there before and Tungate who should go well there getting 2 or 3 between them, missing Lindback became a much bigger problem, i don't know about other Poole fans but i feel let down by Lindback. considering he has had this problem for weeks and has been worse in the last two weeks he shouldn't have accepted the offer to ride.

Depends if he made the situation clear to Matt before he signed.

As a fervent Poole supporter i dont understand why starman just wont admit whatever the moves made re woffinden and lindback it was still the better team that won over two legs yes i want Poole to win as many trophies as possible but if i knew that we would win nearly every year before the season started i would think about bothering the sport needs the excitement of a new team winning the title to keep the interest up for all and give us fans something to talk about

Absolutely. A simple decline of the invite to replace Hans would have given us more of a fighting chance of reaching the final. To not be able to come over before the day of the first leg to practice certainly got the alarm bells ringing and even Middlo stated that was not good. A decent guest would have given us a better opportunity of a bigger lead. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Hans injury couldn't have happened at a worst time as a fit Hans would have scored more at home and a load more than two at Monmore. I certainly don't want it to seem like sour grapes but believe we would be riding against Belle Vue on Monday at Poole if Andersen had been fit to race.

As it is Wolves easily saw off the very weak Poole team we had to put out at Monmore and could only beat what was put in front of them. In that respect they deserved to be finalists.

No it wouldn't and two 5-1s would have meant golden heats. Definitely chomp, chomp, chomp

You didn't lose them, they were moved aside by your cheating management with the idea that their replacements would ensure victory

Do you honestly believe that rubbish?

Do you honestly believe Poole wanted to go into the semi final at Monmore with one heat leader?

You blind hatred of Poole has got the better of you.

So we were talking about your maths and as usual rather than admit you were wrong, you turn it around and start attacking and insulting. My club finished fifth as you well know but why is that relevant?. How does stating a fact show hate for Poole - only in your twisted mind!

Andersen had not been riding well before his injury so no guarantee he would have scored many points. Ford had the option of using guests for Andersen but obviously thought Lindback was a better option. That was his mistake. Pedersen was terrible in the home leg and would have done no better as a heat leader at Wolverhampton. Tungate is a much better rider who has been in good form but had one of those nights, even so, I doubt Pedersen would have scored as many. Poole could also have brought in a guest for Lindback, admittedly not a lot of choice because of his assessed average but maybe using Grajczonek, a Poole asset or Klindt, would have been better than r/r.
