At Redcar tonight Shelby Rutherford confirmed he is riding for Panthers on Friday - don't know who for!

He isn't the only one, see BSPA latest news

I can see droves of Panthers fans coming up for this nothing match now.

Anyone know what Richard Hall's injury is?

Bjerre/Halsey illness - is this cantbebothereditis??

And who has upset Holub??

A cynic may suggest that a) it is a ploy to reduce the thousands of pounds wage bill or b ) it is Peterborough spitting dummy out at not getting their own way

Anyway others can think that, but I fully believe the difficulties with sorting the team out given all the last minute problems :nono:

MEETING PREVIEW:

Guests galore in farcical finale Craig Cook rides for Panthers in Edinburgh. Mark Plummer 09:49 Friday 23 September 2016 Peterborough Panthers will track just two of their own riders in a farcical 2016 finale tonight (September 23). The city team travel to Edinburgh for a meaningless Premier League fixture which will not count towards the play-off standings as it is taking place after the September 19 cut-off date.ADVERTISINGinRead invented by Teads Ulrish Ostergaard skippers Panthers in Edinburgh. Panthers bosses did unsuccessfully seek an extension from the British Speedway Promoter’s Association (BSPA) as a victory in Scotland could lift them to fifth place in the table, but it was rejected. And success at Armadale now looks distinctly unlikely with Panthers only able to track number one Craig Cook and captain Ulrich Ostergaard from their regular seven-man team.

Anders Thomsen saw his season ended by a crash in the Speedway Euro Championship (SEC) last Saturday which left him nursing two broken wrists while Richard Hall has picked up a knee problem.Kenneth Bjerre and Danny Halsey are both understood to be suffering from illness while Zdenek Holub is with-holding his services.Panthers bosses have drafted in four guests with ex-Edinburgh men Matt Wethers and Jye Etheridge coming in for Thomsen and Bjerre respectively, while Shelby Rutherford and David Wallinger (both of National League side Buxton) will form a makeshift reserve combination. It’s rider replacement for Hall.“It is disappointing to be without so many riders,” said team boss Carl Johnson. “And it has not been easy to be able to put a team together. “But we’re very grateful to the four guys who have stepped in to guest and we will treat the meeting as a shop window for next season.”Hosts Edinburgh did make the play-offs by finishing fourth, but they were smashed 58-32 at Ipswich in the opening leg of their quarter-final tie last night.

TEAMS

EDINBURGH: Sam Masters, Ryan Fisher, Erik Riss, Mark Riss, Kevin Wolbert, Max Clegg, Ryan Blacklock (guest).

PANTHERS: Craig Cook, rider replacement for Richard Hall, Ulrich Ostergaard, Jye Etheridge (guest), Matt Wethers (guest), Shelby Rutherford (guest), David Wallinger (guest).

So looks like 5 rides for Etheridge and 11 rides between Rutherford and wallinger - betting spread is set at 4 points between them (only that high as they will be same races!!)

Also got to be a good bet that Cook will score over half points the whole team gets - Ostergaard looked enthusiastic but not fast last night, so 30 points may be optimistic!!

Doubt Bjerre was ever going to go up there anyway.

And as for Holub withholding his services - there's a laugh - he has been doing something similar ever since he turned up in the UK last year.

And no Hall certainly improves them.

Nice that Jye gets another outing though.

But hopefully it'll be a nice boost to the bank balances of a few Monarchs so thank you very much Panties.

Stinking Panties attitude though to not go up there looking for revenge for having been treated so poorly with no-one picking up their dummies.

It was the same at Brough Park when they guested for Ipswich last Sunday against Newcastle. They scored 1 point each (Wallinger beat Rutherford in heat 2) and Rutherford's point was for finishing third in a three rider race (Palovaara excluded in heat 6).

And more importantly, if either of these riders get injured in this farce how will this affect Buxton's chances against Eastbourne on Sunday?

Not sure that Jason Pipe would be able to conjure up any more riders.

when does Holub serve his 28 day ban?

is it between now and then end of the season, when he won't miss any meetings anyway? (where's the punishment in that?)

or does he sit out the first month of the 2017 campaign and become available thereafter? (although, exactly who would want to sign him is another matter)

I'd bad any foreigner who can't average 5 for 2 seasons anyway. Like they're adding anything to our leagues!
