Dandelion
So it's similar size to Newcastle but I assume completely different shape
drew2
If it all went to one bigger league with the EL clubs (that are still going!) plus the stronger current PL it might work. As said before the local derbies with Poole and Swindon would be good. If that happens and the averages are the PL ones adopted and converted then hopefully most of the 2016 team can be back, if they want to be. Â For me, I would love to see Jake back along with BWD, Wrighty and Starkey for starters. Whatever the setup and points limit Gazza and co will have a great team assembled I am sure. With the way Somerset look after their riders I'm also sure there won't be a shortage of riders wanting to come to Cider country in 2017! OdsalBoy
If Joe Jacobs hasn't already been nailed on for another team then i certainly wouldn't say no him at Sheffield. Has anyone else thought Jacobs could be worth a punt ?
yorkshiretyke
Hope the limit stays the same for 2017. First and foremost the track needs sorting out; racing entertainment has been poor this year. Â From Steadys interview I reckon he will be hanging up his kevlars and to be fair who can blame him with the injuries he has had. He's provided fantastic entertainment at Owlerton and elsewhere over the years and I wish him well for the future. Definitely one of the best riders I have ever seen around Owlerton. Â Maybe Sheffield will make the step up to the Elite? Although I hope they stay Premier league as long as the points limit isn't diluted. Â Looked through the averages and the team I would love to see is: Â 1.Grajczonek 2.Bates 3.Howarth 4.L.Bjerre 5.Garrity 6.J.Smith 7.JPB Â That's if they come under the 42.5 limit. Â Sounds like Howarth and Bates are going to be back and I would have thought JPB is nailed on too.. Â Maybe a risk at reserve having 2, 3pt riders but they have rode with each other all year with great results and are improving all the time. Â The top 5 should all at least maintain and improve there averages. Â Sure I'll be way off though.
psycho3a
Steady stated some tough decisions over the Winter... Surely Sheffield cant give him that time anyway, Most teams will start rebuilding this week after the AGM and leagues and points confirmed.. Â All teams will move fast for there Number ones and build there team around them. Â Hope Jason is back but sounds unlikely reading other posts. Â I would start with Sissis & JPB at reserve as Arthur needs to come and start a full season with new machinery, this for me is his make or break season. Â Kyle Howarth should be nailed on along with Dimi and i personally would let Josh move to a tight track to gain experience to help his progress. Â Would love Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder to be in any team that Sheffield build
GS550
Kyle and Josh nailed on IMO..Probably Arthur and its got to be JPB...Then depending on points limit etc..Dimi..Ricky..I have always liked Robbo..Somerset probably cant keep both Grajz and Tungate...Well the AGM is imminent!...Then We'll see..What if riders are allowed to double up like Bomber ,Scotty..then there's Rory and Davy...could be an interesting winter! Â Hi Marcelle, like your avatar. Last i heard Moggy had two slipped discs or something in his back and some other health issue that forced them to cancel the current tour. Appreciate that Way aint with them these days (sadly) but he was also in a bad way (no pun intended) recently was he not. Slightly preferred the Schenker albums such as Force It and Obsessions, but always liked all of the albums with Chapman too, the album which is your Avataar has some good tracks and its immediate predecessor TWTW&TI has long been a top favourite of mine (ranks with Force it in my opinion), including the closing track Profession Of Violence, Chapman pulling off a stonking Schenker-like solo. 'Tonka' was a top man, no question. Â Back to topic, the close season and 2017 does look interesting!! OdsalBoy
Wilson Complin Scud Moore Stead Birkinshaw Ashworth  What a team that was, also remember Lee Redmond and Adam Allott jumping in there somewhere.  I know this has nothing to do with 2017.... but this is the team i first saw when i very first started coming to Sheffield, amazing memories. Steve55
If Joe Jacobs hasn't already been nailed on for another team then i certainly wouldn't say no him at Sheffield. Has anyone else thought Jacobs could be worth a punt ? Think Jacobs will be in demand next year, but can't see him heading to Sheffield. Team building will depend on the decisions made at the promotors conference this week and what points limit they come up with. Rumour has it that it could just be two leagues next year so big changes could be imminent! With regard to the post about Sheffield going Elite League, Bates stated a couple of months ago that that was a non starter, so they'll definitely be in the lower league(s). Willowman
Yes, Somerset is one big oval. I beg to differ 'T'. It is actually it is a discorectangle or obround, commonly known as a stadium.

May not be an elite league, so that the premier becomes the top league, thats going to throw a large spanner into a lot of works.
