dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Some very determined riding throughout by all the Witches who were up for it big time tonight, a word on Connor Coles though, the lad can gate and I think was just trying a little too hard when in good points scoring positions. Well done though!echo that Connor was superb - what an effort. Shame for him he let a few points slip (had he held position wouldve been 7+3) but he can be so proud. Beat Wolbert and Fisher - not bad for starters! Shows why the PL needs to stick with the No7 plan or indeed extend it. Give them a chance and some will shine.
TheScotsman
Congratulations to ippo. Only team in it. Gated better / rode harder / maybe even wanted it more. Embarrassing to watch at times. Should cruise through the tie now. Only crumb of comfort for us was Mark Riss. Got better with each ride and well deserved the heat 15 - shame he was on the outside of a tough trio. But the trophy cabinet has been bursting at the seams so it's someone else's turn. Probably ippo if they can turn over zummerzet.
2ndbendbeerhut
Just looking at the 3 nl riders that Ipswich have used recently, they could all do a job in the pl and must me lots more? Or have we just been lucky with these 3 but unlucky with the other 2? Saying that I'm sure Ritchings and Greenwood could still do ok. Just looked at pl result at Edinburgh and was 52-39. And that was with both Castagna and Greenwood at reserve.

I heard one or two groans about him falling off, I think some people forget he's a young lad who's been thrown in the cauldron of a do or die play off tussle, the pressure on him must have been immense and I think sometimes we all forget that.
2ndbendbeerhut
Before the meeting if anyone would have said he would score paid 4...think we all would have bit their hand off.... boy can he gate!
damosuzuki
Edinburgh don't meet Glasgow in the semis should they get through. They face Somerset. Final to me looks like Somerset vs Glasgow or Newcastle. Don't think the other three stand much of a chance. All the best Rob My point was us meeting in the final, however that looks out the window now.
Baldyman
Yes yes yes yes. Coles what a gater you are, thanks for every single point you scored. As for the rest, brilliant, they wanted that tonight, unlike riders of previous years.
TB1
If the league structure is the same next year, as most of us probably believe the bspa don't have the savvy to change it, then we must attempt to keep as much of this team together as is possible. As you said baldy with previous riders we don't want any mad or bad eggs in the basket. I'm not sure what has clicked but all the riders seem up for it. One final point, dependent on averages I'm sure someone suggested we could bring in Danny Ayres by sacrificing just one rider. Any thoughts? Icicle
Seems to me at the time Danny hit form, a v.good scoring reserve in Jo Jo arrived & the whole clicked! Shows what happens when you get the reserves correct!
RH55
Really. Bewley would easily out score Hume and I would give Jacobs the edge in the battle with Clegg but by no more than 3 points. Think you are underestimating the progress Danyon has made and overegging Bewley's ability. I would take Hume 8/2 over Bewley. As well as CC did tonight, if Danyon had ridden the 60 point barrier would have been broken. No 16 lapper. We haven't had any extra meetings. What happened to the star of anglia as well? Don't know about everyone else but I want to go all the way in play offs. Speedway doesn't normally finish until we sit there shivering. The Club loses up to £4k staging an individual meeting and after the disastrous start to the season that just could not be considered. Still taking Edinbro over the two legs, despite no Bewley and the middle order. Hopefully they get through and get some big attendences to make up for the weather fiasco. Then get pumped by us. What an arrogant and ignorant comment. Edinburgh don't meet Glasgow in the semis should they get through. They face Somerset. Final to me looks like Somerset vs Glasgow or Newcastle. Don't think the other three stand much of a chance. All the best Rob Want to reconsider Rob?

Pob
Well that last night was probably the best home performance all season from the Witches yes we have had bigger wins this season at home but that was against and i don't mean any disrespect to any teams so called lesser teams who didn't make the play offs . The Witches wanted that last night and wanted to build a lead as we all know we aint the best at Edinburgh . Before the meeting i think any Witches fan out there would have bitten your arm off if they had been offered a lead of about 12-14 , but if you had of said you would be 26 points up after the home leg they would have asked what are you smoking ! And it could have been an even bigger lead , i can count 2-3 times when we were sitting on a 5-1 only for us to let it slip because of a mistake or a fall but i can't complain at any of the boys effort from last night . D King - Captain fantastic leading from the front piling on the points and yet another max at home . Gave Masters a head start in heat 13 and still got him . Did need a little help from Covatti but more on that in a minute . J Sargeant - Looked like he need that 1st race after his injury but after that flying N Covatti - Best performance from him all season . Very hard move on Masters in Heat 15 to dive up the inside and move him out wide allowing King through on bends 3-4 . Hard but fair well must have been other wise the Ref could have excluded him . M Risager - Solid scoring from Marmite , B Barker - Not as spectacular as recent weeks but giving great support to the team and always the 1st to get the crowd going . J Jacobs - Still looking like he is struggling with his illness but won the important heat 2 and could of had another win had he not made a mistake while leading. C Coles - Well anyone looking at the score card will see 3 paid 4 from 4 rides but that dont tell the story . Have seen this young lad a few times this season at Mildenhall and did think then he looks useful . Ok think i could be wrong about him . Wow this kid can gate , lighting away from the tapes and not afraid to run the outside line at the start either . If not for lets say some young exuberance could have been paid for alot more . Fell twice when in 2nd following his team mate and had a great race with Wolbert to follow home Barker . Could see he was gutted after he threw some points away in one race , dont worry Connor you did yourself proud last night and in a few years to come i think we could be seeing alot more of you in the Witches colours . Good meeting if you were a Witches fan but not so much if your an Edinburgh supporter , fair play to the Scotsman ( even with his Scottish hat on ) who was sitting with the rest of the BSF Massif last night he took it on the chin and said we were the worry winners and that we should go through to the next round . Hopefully the lead built up will be enough over the two legs .

King Jamie
Still taking Edinbro over the two legs, despite no Bewley and the middle order. Hopefully they get through and get some big attendences to make up for the weather fiasco. Then get pumped by us. What an arrogant and ignorant comment. in what way? all Damo said was that he thought the Monarchs would beat Ipswich over 2 legs but that, should they eventually go on to face Glasgow, he hopes they would, er, lose heavily. he's a Glasgow fan. I thought his post was quite funny! Have some monarchs fans got a sulk on? Not many sporting ones congratulating ipswich on their big win it's only half time baldy well done on last night though. Icicle
Maybe just a little help from the stands as well? Maybe a coincidence but I think the riders are feeling some love Apologies! After I sent that post I realised the "coincidence" & should have mentioned that fact! It has become "Fortress Fox" since the Massif moments! Welly done!
scotchopper
Well done ipswich. We have looked vulnerable all season but to get your biggest loss in the playoffs is very disappointing, especially in the first match. Would be the comeback of the century if we turn it around but not overly optimistic. now I know how others have felt the last few years. Never say never
