Phil The Ace
I know EL riders are bad at lap of honours but my God. They are worse in Poland. Is it against the rules over there or something
Terry
The riders are too busy congratulating each other to bother about acknowledging the fans. Years ago if 2 riders had a great race they would shake hands and that would be that. Now you get race winners fist bumping and high fiving opponents they hadn't even seen during the race! It's all got too 'chummy' for my liking.
THE DEAN MACHINE
I know EL riders are bad at lap of honours but my God. They are worse in Poland. Is it against the rules over there or something to.be fair the opposition riders are given a hard time by the home fans , watching the final yesterday the home riders were waving to the fans but the gorzow riders kept their heads down after the race but at the end of the meeting the the home fans left the stadium and the 1000 away fans were kept back and all their team went over to them , as a measure of how much the opposition give riders a hard time , in the gorzow GP when Jason Doyle won , he walked back to the pits in front of us and he took some right abuse from 3/4 of the stadium simply as he rides for Zielona gora , no other reason ,
Gemini
I don't watch any Speedway from Poland but I wouldn't like things to be that intense over here. I don't suppose others will agree but that's how I feel.
pawel115
Relationship between rival fans in Poland are very hostile especially between Gorzow-Zielona Gora, Rzeszow-Tarnow,Wroclaw-Leszno or in the past Torun-Bydgoszcz hence the special sections of stands available to visiting team fans who are seperated at all times, fans are also escorted by riot police(riot police in large numbers are also present at all derby meetings) it is very similar to football but on smaller scale(Celtics-Rangers relationship comes to mind). Some videos to help understand this i myself condone this type of behavior and seen it while at Rzeszow-Tarnow derby many times. Leszno speedway fans being escorted by police for a match against Wroclaw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDfNXXAAV50 Zielona Gora-Gorzow derby https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXrLFRLaFSc&list=LLixlQvDVOCzfjDqCX568AsA&index=

A ORLOV
When in Poland we went to a meeting by train which had a lot of the away supporters on. At the station in the town where the meeting was taking place the platform had many police with big dogs ready to escort the fans to the actual stadium. We along with non speedway passengers were allowed to leave the platform. The fans had the same escort back to the station after the meeting. It did seem to be that whoever won a race the opposition fans booed them so it is not surprising they do not ride round for a lap of honour. Gemini
It is. Really? Okay I don't mind admitting I hate Poole and probably the Leicester v Coventry, Wolverhampton v Cradley matches in the past were pretty intense but nothing like the rivalry in Poland. That's what I like about Speedway ~ I can quite happily watch a meeting with fans from the opposing team with no problems.
Shadders
I like the idea of walking up to a speedway stadium and being able to watch from wherever I want without the fear of having my head kicked in.
Trees
Perhaps one day Polish fans will feel like British fans and appreciate the racing of all riders whether for their home team or not, as for potential violence, thank goodness we have nothing like that in GB.

I quite like the idea of octogenarians scuffling with each other, using their flasks as weapons whilst Craig Saul is on the tannoy talking about half price lucky bags from the track shop.
