Stadium building rationed in Swindon!

Fans hoping to see much happening get no Christmas present as a new Osbourne company Riviera takes over Torquay United FC.

Cant imagine what that is about if not housing in the future. But no good news for the Swindon Robins as we move into 2017.

As Plainmoor isn't a big site and surrounded by housing on all sides I can't imagine that its the sort of prime real estate that Clark and his boys are looking for. Not a lot happens in Torquay unless Showaddywaddy are in town...

Will Nick Morris be able to improve his disappointing 2016 away form in 2017? Big season needed from him as the teams number 2 rider!

Hope so as apart from Jason all the team need to up their averages they have, that is proper averages and not the false ones from this year

I realise some are keen, despite their protestations to the contrary, that the stadium doesn't go ahead (mostly for no other reason than they are keen to be proven right) but its happening. Sorry.

Bit harsh!!! Think you'll find that 99% of fans desperately want this to happen but there does seem to be a lack of progress even despite 'starting' groundworks?

Think Buzz is referring to the slightly " I told you it wouldn't happen" type slant from our near neighbour Hagen....

Progress does appear to be slow but if father christmas has delivered a load of lego bricks it might speed up a bit. I cannot see a lot of progress over the next couple of months with the weather we are getting so a June completion may be too optimistic.

Completed by the end of the season is my guess mate. Then Rosco can assemble a title winning side for 2018.

We've had a good couple of months weather wise & that's why it is poor that more hasn't been done.

I have passed Blunsdon several times since the end of the season and everytime its 2 or three guys there in hard hats sitting in a cabin drinking tea, or pushing a broom about. Zip being done. Two diggers pushing the same pile of dirt about and the blokes moving a pile of railings from one spot to another, then back again.

Think those guys are there for show. Answered an advert at the job centre. Wanted. Tea drinkers. Must wear yellow reflective jacket and hard hat. Be able to read (a newspaper) listen (to the radio) and look busy when anyone approaches.

Hours. Monday to Friday. 9-4. Tea breaks 9.10-10am, 10.10-11, 11.10-12. Lunch 12-3. Tea break at 3.10 -4pm.

What actually is the situation there in a nutshell? If the new track is not built in time can the old track still be used next year?

It took Tony Mole's construction team from early January all the way to mid March to build the track in Perry Barr in 2007 so if construction doesn't start soon it would be good to know that a "plan B" exists.

As has been said the new track will be in use from June so they will just transfer.

Surprised only 1000 seats in 3000 capacity, then not everyone likes parking their bums.

Spot on and very few of those live in Swindon and surrounding area.
