Swindon 2017

Recommended Posts

I recognise that next season the league has once again been watered down, but some of the Robins's teams that have been 'tabled' so far especially with the inclusion of Doyle, look worryingly weak.

Will Ellis improve? Huge dependency on him to kick on. Has Morris reached his peak? A disappointing season for him last year is of concern. Nielsen in the main body of the side? Surely not.

Whilst there don't appear to be any confirmed signings just yet, the likes of the young Holder, Kurtz Newman and Andersen, immediately look mighty impressive and far more solid for Poole.

Got a feeling Rosco is going to have to find a real golden nugget of a rider from either Denmark or Poland to inspire the Robins next year.

I am worried ER about Swindon but that Poole four is it that good? with Chris yes ) saying that without Chris these four plus could be hard to beat at home. Edited by Sidney the robin

It says a lot about next year when the probable Poole team is seen as strong.

I think Swindon may struggle with Ellis on nearly 8. We are even seeing Nielsen as a possible top 5 rider.

This is, effectively, Premier League. I just hope having Jason in the side helps to keep crowd levels up although he doesnt yet have the longevity at the club that Leigh had.

I appreciate that some clubs feel the need to cut costs, but every time you cut costs you can also expect to cut attendances, and this simply restarts the cost cutting process. It's very obviously an entirely unsustainable model that the powers that be have been implementing year on year.

I am with you not to bothered this is PL to be honest as a product never worth 17 quid a meeting. But to see Jason everyweek will keep the crowd decent and maybe Rossiter can come up with a half decent side.

Have to admit to being a little perturbed about the side ' may not please everyone'...doesn't fill you with much anticipation does it?! To be honest I've not been impressed with our last 2 or 3 sides that started the season!

Me to & the more you look into it Rosco will be struggling to come up with a play off line up.

Also look what happened at Poole when they had Jason Crump & Bjarne Pedersen they struggled & the fans left in droves.

Not sure a 15 or 18 point max for Doyley will be enough to keep fan levels up.

Also think Nick will be back & there will be a rule that stops teams changing riders when the riders get new averages.

Obviously you do otherwise you and the rest of the immature kids wouldn't have started off a glory hunter conversation.

Nice to see the truth hurts😀😀

Might being the key word lol.

I would expect Swindon to do a lot of re shuffling next season when Doyle's average drops a bit.

But as nobody knows the rules regards team changes when the new average apply its not likely to be earth shattering. If it was going to stay at 50, sign as many high average as you can and fill up with cannon fodder, then replace.

The club have tweeted that another deal is being worked on, my guess (and it's only that) is that it'll be a foreign rider who's not been in the UK before. A young Dane/, Swede or Pole. Personally I'd love it to be Patrick Hansen, was in Gdansk for the world U21 final this year, the kid has some serious ability at 18....

Agree he was top class that evening. Would be a very good signing.

Loving the trolls tonight keep it coming guys :D

Very entertaining reading the silly squads posts tonight :t:

Probably even more entertaining than watching a meeting at the Abbey for the last couple of years.

You only watch at the Showground is that right.😂 Edited by Sidney the robin
