Swindon 2017

Recommended Posts

Sedgey has been a disappointment this season after his form in Oz back in January. My bro saw him break Leigh Adams track record at Gillman, Adelaide, and Davey Watt won that round. He said they were the two fastest. Both couldn't transfer that form to British league racing.

Although Sedgey is struggling with an injury now.

Struggling with an injury he may be but it didn't stop him being out on the p!$$ with Rosco and others last night!! :D:shock:

Just a reminder for fans, that the A419 will be closed between 8pm and 6am on various dates after Aug 29th.

The first stages appear to be northbound from M4 to Stadium turn off.

Just check roadworks website for southbound closures from Stadium back to M4.

Be better for some fans to use junction 15 and wind their way through west Sindon.

Part of the idea of specific nights is to fit in with riders riding abroad and it also allows for doubling up as there would not be any clashes of meetings and the unavailability of riders. The biggest issue is that many clubs do not own their track so some may not be able to run on whatever days are picked. D/U make not be liked but it is the best way for riders to get experience in the higher leagues which if they are British will also improve the standard of the younger British riders faster. Many Premier riders cannot afford to just ride in one league, but there might need to be restrictions as to the numbers or length of time a Premier league rider can D/U.

I have posted before about specific race nights as it was ok for teams to ride on Mondays when Sky were in town & it is the same with BT Sport. Somerset main race night is Friday, yet they have raced on a Wednesday & Monday. Similar with Rye House whose main night is a Saturday & have, also, raced on a Monday & Wednesday.

Better Fixture Planning would, also, minimize the use of guests when double up/down is needed.

Do you mean 16. After the meetings I would head for J16 to go west or J14. to go east.

Note the road is going to be closed in sections but only between 8pm and 6am so it will only effect fans going home. Initial closures are northbound so they will not cause any problems. But later they will close the southbound back to M4.

Somerset have now confirmed that they can come to Swindon this thursday Aug 24th and the meeting is back in the schedules.

That's the one, junc.16, Swindon west, there's plenty of roadworks there as well. Just as quick to go through town at that time of day, very little traffic now the school's are closed.

Perhaps Thursday's meeting will be reduced price, unlikely though.

Maybe they should offer reduced admission on Thursday for fans who attend tomorrow's meeting. Might help fill both matches a bit.

Heard from a couple of sources that Adam Ellis has just become a Poole asset. Any truth in this? Jonny the spud?

Could be a waste of time. I've heard that the BSPA are to bring in a rule that limit's the number of assets that they can hold.

Skidder told me to re-think about my options of riders who are on a 5.00 average.

According to rumours we have made our 2nd signing for 2018 and its another rider on a 5.00

Adam Ellis is a 5 something so the rumour is more than likely true.

Well that's means just sign them now. You can't take away peoples assets if they own them. That's illegal in any form or business. And I also think that assets help a lot of teams, if Poole have paid Lakeside. Lakeside can use that money to help with something else. I think the asset system is needed to simply help big teams spread the wealth.

This is also a good signing. Seems Ford is going for young stars for 2018.

How can a rider be transferred to another club without the rider even knowing or being consulted about it (if true)?

No wonder they are starting to feel a need to stand up for themselves.
