keef robin
Ipswich - and fuel is so expensive in RWB Must still live in Swindon area, 3 filling stations within 400 yards, bit dearer than Swindon, don't fill up in Marlborough though! A ORLOV
Who is Justin the Sedgmen riding for now? Was at filling station in Royal Wootton Bassett earlier. He probably lives in Lydiard where a few riders live and Bassett would be on his route to M4 J16, but you are right fuel is more expensive in Bassett. Yeah I know last year a few of the Aussie lads were using the workshop facilities at Stone House Farm, Lydiard Millicent. He drove the opposite way from M4 towards Malmesbury. hyabb17
So with the rearranged fixture next week we will be without BWD as Peterborough will have priority as it's a rearrange fixture. Somerset could be without 5 riders as Sheffield, Scunny & Redcar all race. Somerset select 7 coming up

hyabb17
Yeah seen that, only thing I can think of is they try & bring the Leicester match forward to that date & then double header is against Somerset twice, whether they do this I'm not sure. The meeting against Somerset next thursday is cancelled, probably due to lack of Somerset riders available, but Swindon are stating they will run something. So need to keep an eye on the website. hagonshocker
Doubt it be Leicester unless they agree to run without King Bjerre Riss etc! Although with there personal records at Swindon they wouldn't be a loss to them!
A ORLOV
Rosco reports that the top league has got to push for fixed race nights at the agm. The fixture planning this year has been awful and if the rest of August is wet we will have a major problem. We have 7 meetings scheduled between tonight and Sept 4th and many other clubs are in the same situation yet we have had weeks of no meetings during the season. Something has got to change as this has been a problem for a few years now. http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2952.1
SteveLyric2
I love Rosco to bits but is this simply a knee jerk reaction to the fixture pile-up - caused in no uncertain terms by a number of clubs going several weeks without fixtures, for no obvious reason. If any plan for 2 fixed nights is agreed upon and its a condition of being included in the Premiership, then why are we bothering with the Promotion/Relegation play - offs as it may not suit the winners (or losers)? I'm not going to get into the 'which 2 nights are best' argument as that has been well documented and is not easy for those tracks that rent/share their facilities with other sports. A ORLOV
Premiership - Monday and Wednesday Championship - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday That would work. Although in the long-term, they need to phase out and eliminate doubling-up. All the best Rob Part of the idea of specific nights is to fit in with riders riding abroad and it also allows for doubling up as there would not be any clashes of meetings and the unavailability of riders. The biggest issue is that many clubs do not own their track so some may not be able to run on whatever days are picked. D/U make not be liked but it is the best way for riders to get experience in the higher leagues which if they are British will also improve the standard of the younger British riders faster. Many Premier riders cannot afford to just ride in one league, but there might need to be restrictions as to the numbers or length of time a Premier league rider can D/U. GregoryM
Tonight Jason scored 3,3,2,2,2 12 and Nick 2,w,1,1 4+1 for Rospiggarna in their win over Indianerna in Sweden. This was Nicks first meeting for this club so hopefully his scores will improve as he gets to know the track. Jason Doyle scored 9 points from his 5 rides in the IMME meeting at Gdansk on Monday night (14th). That put him in the semi-finals, where only the winners proceeded to the final. The top two scorers qualified directly to the final and the next 8 highest scorers contested the two semis. In his semi Jason was leading, but was passed by Kacper Woryna and so was eliminated. The final was 1st Leon Madsen, 2nd Kacper Woryna, 3rd Bartosz Smarzlik and 4th Patryck Dudek. Woryna passed Zmarzlik on the run to the line to claim second place. Last defeat end of May, also at Lynn, the only time they haven't taken a point. Fantastic run since then. Can anyone explain why the fixtures have been planned like this? Luckily they're top so crowds have increased. The Town are in action again so lot of expense for fans that follow both sports. Steve0
This team has surpassed anyone's expectations. I saw there was potential but we were one change away from being playoff material. Rosco made that change (not his first choice) and now the team are on fire! I am so glad the mighty atom turned us down in favour of BV because Alpen has been a revelation. KL next and their championship side
keef robin
He did live in Basset a few years back I believe. He may be back there.Sedgey has been a disappointment this season after his form in Oz back in January. My bro saw him break Leigh Adams track record at Gillman, Adelaide, and Davey Watt won that round. He said they were the two fastest. Both couldn't transfer that form to British league racing.Although Sedgey is struggling with an injury now. A ORLOV
Just a reminder for fans, that the A419 will be closed between 8pm and 6am on various dates after Aug 29th. The first stages appear to be northbound from M4 to Stadium turn off. Just check roadworks website for southbound closures from Stadium back to M4. http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/15482491.Warning_to_allow_extra_time_for_journeys_during_A419_resurfacing_work/?ref=mrb&lp=
