Gemini
Neal Watson on another thread confirmed no injury replacements after deadline. So presume it would need to be guest coverage in case of injury to a reserve. But the deadline is today isn't it so if Rosco works quickly he could get someone. I suppose the rule was put in place to stop out of form riders getting a fake injury in order to bring in a better rider but unfortunately it backfires when the injury is genuine like this one. Steve just beat me to it. Edited July 28, 2017 by Gemini
hagonshocker
Won't make much difference? But for that fall Zach would had scored paid 9...who out there at 7 not currently deemed good enough will do that?! Even been scoring 4's away which at 7 is easier said than done Only thing Rosco needs to do is be ruthless and give Ellis an extra ride to limit the no hoper to 3 rides! bruno
If teams can't bring a rider in then most will end up with less than full teams in about 6 weeks because of injuries. I can see a shambles on the horizon

Zach had an average of 3.12 Zach had an average of 3.12ORLOV with bonus points Zach has an average of 4.80 dont you think that is his correct average? i do a terrific effort.
Mattfordfan
Zach had an average of 3.12 I know see my earlier post A ORLOV. Swindon's best bet is Max Clegg but I don't think the abbey would suit him. Just my opinion though.

I was surprised how low his average is but unfortunately we live with the bspa rules as they are.

Decent guests might not be available most weeks. This season has been a total mess from the management side of things. Just have to read about the drama of the fours tournament and it hasn't even begun yet. Silly rules left, right and centre this season. theblueboy
This is desperately bad timing. He is clearly developing at The Abbey and the improvement over the last 6 weeks has been phenomenal. He has been an integral part of the Robins upturn with his contributions both home and away. Crucial loss and I hope whoever the replacement is can just ride to their average.
Dandelion
If the rules are kicked out the window it would be another nail in the coffin, much like the farce over the fours (or is it fives?). It's called the fours because there are four riders from each team, not because there are 5 riders in a race or five teams in a group... You don't seem two man races in the pairs... Or single man race in the rider's championships!!
Aces51
It is a shame for Zach, I have been impressed from what I've seen of him. However, there's always the "in the best interests of the sport" get out clause the BSPA can use if so inclined to give you more time but Clegg seems the best available option so could be signed today. At least Swindon still have a chance to sign someone. What happens next week if soneone loses a rider? It's a crazy rule, brought in because some teams didn't want Poole or Wolves to win the title. There has to be an allowance for injury replacements. Fans don't want guests and many will be put off. The nature of speedway means injuries inevitably happen. Top of the league table but we lost to Coventry in the final.
