Shale Searcher
Heard today that Swindon will be handing back the Under 21 event so looks like another season in the old stadium & clear signs the new track is not going to be ready. If that's the case, I wonder if Leicester may get it.... With the track re-modelling, might be the ideal location! Pretty much bang centre of the UK.... I hope that this is not the case but if that does happen it just proves that more bs has been given to and put out by the management.

I understand it's because if they don't have the stadium ready then they will have to pay compensation if they don't pull out early.

That is ok but I, probably like many others, am getting fed up with all the bs about this new stadium and the past stupid building time scales the fans have been told.

Obviously nothing as i drove in yesterday! Edited February 17, 2017 by beefy keefy

MattK
Yes. But it was said "If" it wasn't ready. Not it won't be ready Given that they haven't started and we're already midway through February, July seems a tad optimistic!

hagonshocker
It's all one big f******g joke with this situation , if one more club official mentions an exciting season ahead with the move to a new stadium I will scream , somehow I think they will keep Schtum over this as it's the same old s**t every year Yes. But it was said "If" it wasn't ready. Not it won't be readySadly the writing is already on the wall

Just hold tight. Be positive and it will come. Sometimes it takes a while to get what you want. But when you do get it I'm sure it's going to be awesome

Maybe March 2018 is more realistic. In the meantime, Robins have the 'old lady' to ride this season. The creaking, leaking stadium can just about last another season, and the back straight bogs will continue to be a popular topic of conversation for another season. SCB
Report on the new stadium from M Bowden http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/15044648._Stadium_is_going_to_plan___says_Bowden/?ref=mr&lp=7 "No delay". That's odd, they had a farewell to the Abbey meeting 18 months ago so it's at least a year delayed!!

noggin
Why bid to host the U21 event, if they can't even get a spade into the ground since last season finished, jokers the lot of them, even if they worked 24/7 they'd struggle to get a stadium, track and parking finished in time.
