Steve Shovlar
The issue here is the top two teams decide if they ride home or away first not sky. If Poole wanted to ride away first then sky should have changed their schedule. True. Wolves asked Poole to go first because of the problems with unavailability. For all the effort of finishing second, it made no difference because in the interest of the sport Poole allowed Wolves to go second.
stevebrum
True. Wolves asked Poole to go first because of the problems with unavailability. For all the effort of finishing second, it made no difference because in the interest of the sport Poole allowed Wolves to go second. No best interest tho. If Poole dug there heels the BSPA would have had to change the date and poole look spiteful on Sky which is the last thing they need after GP 7pointergate. In the best interest of the sport both sides saw sense without a need to try and gain the moral upper ground. It seems they are leaving it to the odd couple of Poole fans who want to claim that for themselves. As already stated, absolutely nothing to see here. Starman2006
The trouble is with Starmans brain the obvious is not always obvious. I don't do obvious..I deal in facts. There not allowed to ride on Wednesday at the stadium ...how thick are you ? Not as thick as you, for somebody that just jumps on the bandwagon for his own self importance and self gratification.. Orion you know nothing old son... Exactly, it's not the final! Yet another stupid post from Brum. Think I prefer home leg first, so I'm not bothered! Is that for convience or because your not bothered if we reach the final. Edited September 20, 2016 by Starman2006
Bagpuss
I don't think who has which leg first really matters tbh. I'd say all Poole's efforts were to finish top, after that it's pretty irrelevant as long as you are in the top four.

Bagpuss
As there is at Poole. But it's still 15 heats on each track, doesn't matter which way round it is.

Rubbish, you ask Matt ford which way round he would prefere, and he will tell you the away leg first..
LisaColette
Rubbish, you ask Matt ford which way round he would prefere, and he will tell you the away leg first..Only cos he wants to go through in front of the home fans but if we get thrashed at Wolves no one would turn up to that anyway.
hagonshocker
Interesting that There was a mention of Tungate riding in this meeting but not on either team sheet.Tungate WAS booked for this meeting. Clearly Poole weren't sure about the fitness of one or more of there riders perhaps Matt had already decided someone wasn't fit before consulting them? Lol sounds familiar

Tommy Sweetman
Rubbish, you ask Matt ford which way round he would prefere, and he will tell you the away leg first.. Have you actually asked Ford or Middlo what they wanted to do. I posted on here a couple of weeks ago before the the play-offs were decided, that if Poole and Wolves were to ride each other, then if the Pirates finished second, they might want the first leg at home. The reason being, that Wolves are normally useless around Wimbourne Rd,and could easily concede a margin of around 15 points to take back to Monmore. Sorry, but if you cant defend that sort of advantage, then you don't deserve to go through to the final

ray c
Its also about revenue Lisa.why don't you clear this matter up once and for all as you tell people on the Poole forum Matt's door is always open pop in and ask him why we are riding at home first

Its not mandatory to ride the first tie away,as other teams have done so in the past.
foreverblue
Tungate WAS booked for this meeting. Clearly Poole weren't sure about the fitness of one or more of there riders perhaps Matt had already decided someone wasn't fit before consulting them? Lol sounds familiar As i said previously Bjarne didn't ride at the weekend so i expect it was to cover him but has declared himself fit as has Kyle Newman so all good. Why would Matt want Tungate instead of a home rider, he couldn't have replaced Newman anyway and Bjarne is likely to score more than Tungate unless there was a possible fixture clash with another rider, there is no one in the team who i would want replaced by Tungate. LisaColette
Thing is Ray,guys like Starman and Shovlar think its a given, that teams having the choice of pick, wanting to ride the first leg away from home. Its not mandatory to ride the first tie away,as other teams have done so in the past. For example the 2013 playoff final vs Birmingham where the 1st leg was at Poole (not our choice!) but we took a 20 point lead there, which they couldn't recover from. All about having a psychological edge over your opponents even if that means having a decent lead going into the second leg.
