Baldyman
Newcastle by thirty plus, should be anyway unless the diamonds are not as strong as I think they are at home.
screm
Some one has mentioned Jacobs not riding tonight. Anyone know anything? Ipswich Witches @ipswichspeedway 1m1 minute agoEast, England Joe Jacobs is also suffering from flu so David Wallinger rides at number six for the Witches #speedway #Tru7Witches
Steve Irving
R/R for Sargeant. Good job this is a meaningless fixture as its all gone a bit Pete Tong for the Witches.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Better to get it out of the system and rest up for Thursday. Shame for the Newcastle fans as much as anything. Hope they still get an entertaining match to watch.
Super Blue
Not sure it's even worth checking the scores on updates as it won't mean a thing . It's just a case of how big the battering is , four riders are never going to win a meeting , no disrespect to the two reserve guests . Let's hope as near to full strength as possible is back on Thursday.

Hawk127
I feel sorry for the Newcastle fans who pay good money and you have the witches turn up with half a team. What is it with management and riders who that think they can treat the paying public in this way. No wonder this sport and I use that word in the kindest sense, is an absolute joke and in any other field they would be hung out to dry. Speedway clearly thinks it is ok but this is where the BSPA, if it had any balls which it clearly does not, would step in and fine teams. No wonder no one takes this seriously. Years back this would not happen but now, it is two fingers to the paying public. Sad to say but the Louis clan are are doing a great disservice to Ipswich and the team that has such a great heritage.
spanner47
Hardly the promoters fault if a rider cries off with flu a few hours before the meeting. No promoter or rider is going to go the extra mile for a pointless meeting. Edited September 18, 2016 by spanner47

Sargeant was injured on Friday, Hume has broken his collarbone and Jacobs is ill. What are "The Louis clan" supposed to do?
TB1
Hopefully sarjeant won't be injured for long. Otherwise the tapes manufacturer will be filing for bankruptcy!

What are "The Louis clan" supposed to do? Get suitable replacements to make a match of it an not rip the paying public off. This has become a long standing trait in the sport and adds to all the other woes that are so wrong. If you run a business you you aspire to do the best not making do. I'm not sure suitable replacements can be sourced. The sport is in a mess and needs a top to bottom clean.I remember when doubling up started around 2003. I seemed to recall it was meant to be British riders under 21 allowed to ride in the elite league to gain experience. I thought at the time this is a bad idea and many of us were right. The question is how on earth did they allow it to get so out of hand. Edited September 18, 2016 by T B

I seemed to recall it was meant to be British riders under 21 allowed to ride in the elite league to gain experience. I thought at the time this is a bad idea and many of us were right. The question is how on earth did they allow it to get so out of hand. Totally mismanaged and no overall structure to the running of the show. Providing entertainment seems lost on the average promoter. As an aside having read John Louis's book, I really cannot understand how much standards, appetite and pride have fallen in not too many years. Supporters clamour for league speedway and not speedway in general, riders who have little in the way of track craft with gate and go seemingly the norm, few riders who are prepared to tackle the track and prefer to admit defeat on a walk around rather than just getting on with it and then the referees who seem to miss a genuine good fast start and call a race back at a whim. You then have riders rush back to get the bikes re-adjusted rather than being told to get back to the tapes and get on with it. It is a farce and no one seems bothered with the supporters being the ones who are taken for a ride. As someone said on another thread, as long as we keep on paying the entrance fee those that run this shambles will do nothing to change so much that is wrong. spanner47
I hope we can do better than the guests we have used so far to cover for Hume. After what was said before Thursday's meeting, I thought Perks was the only 3 point option of any standard. Certainly not much else about, unless someone knows different.
