Glasgow V Workington Pl League Cup Semi-final 1st Leg 18/9/16 3pm

Recommended Posts

If the Worky middle order turn up you wont need to.

Agreed , Hansen needs to think every away track is Peterborough as him and Jensen were pretty rubbish when Workington were up in the League . The weather woman last night , on the telly , promised the rain wont start till around 5 o clock , so if we keep the tractor racing and the other nonsense to a minimum we should be fine .

We're an open club who belive in transparency and decency. No secrets.

Not exactly answering the question, forget Edinburgh, they just run at a level they can't afford, do you actually know who has a higher wage bill than Glasgow?

Oh yeah and as for open and honest, whatever happened to that full statement about the departure of a rider last season?

Really?

How do you know?

To quote some riders

Richard Lawson - I could have signed for Edinburgh and got more money but it always rains at Armadale on Friday's.

Aaron Summers - Edinburgh offered more to go back but there s*ite.

So there you have it complete myth.

The open and honest post was obviously tongue in cheek , we all know speedway clubs like to keep their affairs kept very close to their chest . Glasgow might well have the highest wage bill , nobody knows that for sure . I honestly don't care who gets paid what at any club .

Got to agree, absolutely no ones business, supporters should just enjoy speedway for as long as it exists.

So why would they bring up the subject when unprovoked? Only they'll know I suppose.

I never brought it up - I get fed up with people referring to Glasgow spending on riders wages as it's completely made up (and probably a load of rubbish).

I have no idea about any clubs wage bill. Anyway, seems to be a bit of a low key build up to this meeting. It's a semi final and I'm looking forward to it.

Just my opinion but i'd say the track was totally fine (when i say fine, it was wet, but not much standing water on the track) I just think that one team wanted it more than the other. You had a few Workington riders chucklng it after less than a lap if they didn't gate.

Nope. Nothing wrong with the track at all, Worky just didn't look interested other than Vissing. Highlight being his two fingered salutes to the Glasgow fans which showed he was still interested.

A meeting that we were bound to win, but Worky seemed to have decided the tie was over before it started.

Quite an enjoyable meeting despite the wet with heats run in quick succession. Glasgow's desire to win was tremendous with Lunna, Summers and Bach just never giving in. Ht15 was superb with Bach chasing Wells for 3 laps before going under him though may have benefitted from Wells goggles pinging off at the end of lap 2.

Credit to all the riders for giving it a go with the categoric exception of Jensen who gave up before the first bend in his first two heats and pulled onto the grass. Hansen worked his socks off and Vissing let his frustration get the better of him at the end of ht13. Never say never but Glasgow should have safe passage through.

Does not look good all the retirements

Roynon seemed to have bike issues in the early meeting and Jensen was disinterested which counts for 5 R's.

Not a lot wrong with the track slightly heavier due to the dampness but times were still on a par with the normal.

Sadly Workington for some reason just didn't look up for it , on a side note referee consulted both teams at heat 10 to ask if they were happy to continue both were happy to continue so to blame the track is clutching at straws.
