Berwick 2017 50th Year

Don't like the idea of dropping riders once they are signed but if there is a need for a double change how about Bellego or Kus and Zach Wajknecht instead of Bridger and the 2 point rider

Wont work afraid! You have to have rider 3 or lower at No 7 and a Brit Look at all teams to confirm

If it's Blacklock we will finish bottom of the league on paper and there's a good chance barring injuries it will be the same on track, it is a chance gor the management to be ruthless after seeing the teams that everyone else is fielding compared to us but I have my doubts

Whats wrong with Blacklock He as good as many other No 7 listed in Premier teams. Think he got in a rut at Buxton. Seem him a lot in NL and he always gives 100% Will be little diffrence between him and Chessell

Going by the fact that Chessell's average is 2 points higher than his that's all, I've seen Blacklock do decently for Workington as a NL guest against Berwick at derwent park.

He has retired!

Your getting very excited about swapping one 2pt man for another.Dont think that will change or league position!!!! Our Team doesn't look THAT BAD.

Like I said before, it's a team that is difficult to get your head around. Which Bridger do we get, will Vissing become a team man , as he wasnt previously, hence the handbags with Kus in the pits. I hop lIam kicks on, it's going to be much harder for him in the main team. Kev will do what he does, don't see much change there. The Gap just don't know. The one rider to watch out for me is Dimitri Berge.

ryan blacklock did have a pritty good meating as a guest for workington and actually won a race

if he is to ride in the prem league as weve known it then im sure there is some improvement in him

hes been up and down in the national league so if hes to continue in the sport at whatever level needs to find something and stepping up a league might just be the thing to make him up his game

The Blacklock rumour seems to be the sensible option after we have been let down by Chessell and for most of last season Blacklock's NL average was about the same as Liam Carr's was, although it dropped a bit just at the end.

Not much known talent about after every other team have had there pick, Chessell guested for Panthers in one match in 2016 and looked well off the pace so I wouldn't look to disappointed at him pulling out , maybe Berwick's best hope would be to do what Edinburgh did last season and leave it as late as you can by inviting riders for trials for the NO7 position, who knows you may discover another Dan Bewley.

You have to give the other 6 a chance before you start writing them off though ,it's ridiculous trying to reshape the team to accommodate another a reserve.Interesting to see how many of these 2 point reserves live up to the hype ,it will just be case of beating riders the have already race in NL in a lot of cases in a weakened league.Claus is very good round Berwick and will ride to his average and is a good signing IMO .

Not writing them off, could well be the dark horse as a a team, it's just a team I cannot get my head together with.

Ryan rode for buxton and has came on well this year only problem was he never got enough rides they were out every cup competition first round so only got a ride every 2/3 even 4 weeks unlike Luke who was riding most weeks with cradley give him plenty bike/race time he will do well

TEAM NEWS!

Last week the club were unfortunately faced with the news that Luke Chessell has decided to take a break from the sport and has sighted financial strain and a general disillusionment with the sport as his reasons.

Gary Havelock adds,

"While we are disappointed with the news we have to thank Luke for not leading us down the garden path and dropping us in it closer to the start of the season.
We have explored all avenues and feel we have found a hidden gem to replace Luke.
After a successful meeting with myself, Scott, Jamie and Dennis McCleary we confirm that our number 7 will be Ryan Blacklock.
Ryan's attitude and ambition really excites me and from everyone we've spoken to, giving up and backing off is not something in his vocabulary!"

The Workington based Blacklock joins the Bandits pending the necessary BSPA approval from national league Buxton where he has consistently held his own as a heat leader and also formed a popular pairing with our rider of the year Liam Carr in previous seasons.

The arrival of Ryan Blacklock to Berwick only adds what promises to be a spectacular season for the Bandits!
