hyabb17
He's had a bad year. Took a gamble & signed for Wroclaw in the Polish extraliga which didn't work out. Decided against the premier league, in hindsight he probably shouldn't have. People forget he's still only 22, plenty of years left. Plenty of riders have had bad years....Learn & come back stronger! To answer your question, yes he will be a Swindon rider next season & deserves that chance IMO He's shocking. Would he have a team place for not for his closeness to Rosco? BluPanther
Need to do a rain dance for Friday now 'Rain spreading from the west may turn locally very heavy and thundery from early Friday, with the risk of some torrential downpours very locally. Please be aware of the risk of some localised flooding'. Taken from the Met weather warnings for Thurrock...

Cook had proved a genuine 2nd heat leader, which is what Swindon needed morris to be. This time last year I would say they were very much on par with each other. foreverblue
Fairly straight forward after heat 1. Every Aces rider coming up with a brilliant pass of the fast gating visitors at some time or another. I wouldn't critisise the Swindon riders too much, they were really trying and all of them were involved in good races at some point in the meeting. Shame about the crowd again. Tonight would have been a full house to celebrate the title but it was, like all the meetings since we all but qualified for knockout cup bit, well down on what you would expect. Thats six meetings now with on average less than half what you would expect. It will be easy to assess the crowds we probably would have got had we been chasing the title rather than just waiting for the knockout cup bit because in our next meeting we will be chasing the title. I'm expecting between 3500-4000 for the semi which is on average about 2000 up on the crowds since we all but qualified. In other words getting on for 20,000 down over the 6 meetings because of the qualifier and knockput cup format. And that's just at Belle Vue, it would be ridiculous to suggest the same doesn't happen at other tracks, not least because the fans are apparently saving money for the play offs! I didn't hear or see any sign of anyone from Swindon? I thought there would have been some cheering or a bit of noise after the first heat 1-5 but nothing and I didn't see any coaches outside either. Yet again the myth about the mediocre mid table teams attracting big crowds is shown to be a load of bollox. There might be a few more than usual at lakeside of course but that seems doubtful as fans will obviously be saving their money for play offs. I thought fans didn't bother with qualifiers just because it didn't matter after their team had qualified, it's no wonder crowds are down if fans are saving money as well! I can't see us not picking Swindon or Lakeside after tonight. The crowd should be decent for the semi, I'd be surprised if we don't at least double tonights crowd as it's the first properly meaningful meeting since the beginning of August so there should be lots of fans with plenty of of money in their pockets. Having said that it will be nowhere near what it would be against the world champion, so its a gamble. Not only might we lose the semi but Poole could beat the world champion which means we miss out on a full house for the final. Even with 4,000 for the semi and a full house for the final we will never recoup the 20,000 we lost thanks to the qualifier and cup format, which is a shame. At least because its a cup semi final it's exciting though so that makes up for it, burp! i thought you wanted Wolves in the play offs! foreverblue
Derrr?? Of course I like the knockout cup bit, its the ongoing negative affect on attendances I don't like. Has onion hacked your account? I do? But you said i can't see us not picking Lakeside or Swindon.
foreverblue
I can't? The two statements are mutually exclusive aren't they? True.Because your management are sensibly going for the easier option to ensure progress to the very lucrative final. Great news to have a playoff decider friday should be exciting at Lakeside. Sidney the robin
Tbh I think Cook is having a decent season, whereas Morris has been disappointing. This time last year I would say they were very much on par with each other.Cook has been poor gone backwards in my opinion even in the PL has looked down what did he score in the PLRC? Saying that I predict next year Cook will improve this year certainly at the new Belle Vue he has been very up/down.
bellevueace
Something like 'everything ready to go tonight after yesterdays thunderstorms..' On twitter or official website. Not exactly hard and only take two mins. I get that but if theres no cancellation announcement i would presume the meeting to be on.

foreverblue
Nothing is 'ensured' is it? Its great that it will be exciting at lakeside but its a pity the fans will be saving their money for the play offs, that is what you said isn't it? Who have we picked by the way? No nothing ensured just a presumption and looking at your managers remarks on your teams website would tend to enhance that view. Of course you haven't picked anyone yet as your manager will respectfully wait until the last meeting has been completed.

Agreed, I think he's a shoe in on his average next year as hopefully he settles in doing the premier and EL and gets his machinery to his liking. Morris I never thought looked like he was ready to step up. He was far from the finished article at premier level imo and needs to get back riding PL next year. and doubling up. waiheke1
I shouldn't ask, but where does the estimate of 20000 down in crowd numbers over 6 meetings come from? If ff is saying he expects 3.5k for the play offs, then even if he thinks title run in meetings would have the same attendance (which figures from Sweden seem to disprove) that seems to indicate crowds of only 300 forrecent meetings . Which doesn't seem right
Anzum
Just got back. Long way to go to watch us lose. We were on the wrong side of the close races. Almost every race gate 1 led into first bend followed by gate 2 then 3. If you were in four you were going no where. Can't argue with the result, just beaten by the better team. Centre green chap a little OTT and he could acknowledge an away rider riding well and his apology went on and on.
waiheke1
Well an average between 2000 up on the average and a full house (4500 up on average) is obviously 3,250, isn't it?But you said you expect 3500-4000 for the semi. With attendancrs actually aroundc1500-2000.Are you saying in a league format you would have expected crowds of 4750 for the title run in? On what basis?
