TonyE
Alfie has become a firm favourite for the Hammers this year. He is an out and out racer and I am sure he will do well for you.
andys
Â Really does beg the question why we turned to him in the first place !! panic knee jerk reaction me thinks. Â Have to say, a lot happier with this choice, but don't expect an immediate world beater! If he gets his two points that will do for a starter. Â Who owns him? Unfortunately in some people's eyes on here the promotion are damned if they do and damned if they don't, they should be commended for acting quickly to sign Alfie up after an impressive showing on Sunday.

I don't think he could be any worse so should be interesting to see how he goes. Made an impressive first impression at Brough. Â Any news on Hopwood after his fall last night? DiamondGlory
It was a good showing on Sunday. Hopefully we won't need to make anymore reserve changes after this. Unfortunate to hear about Hopwood, he's becoming a decent reserve for the diamonds. Hope its not too serious. Bowtell may not be a world beater, but scoring 4 on your debut at Brough is a good way to get noticed, and obviously, it paid off for him.

If they listened to the fans and made changes based on that, then the only rider who would remain would be worrall!! Â Each of the others has been targeted to be dropped by various fans (granted not always for the most logical reasons)!
Dandelion
The only reason riders have been 'targeted' is because we needed to team change to get a proper play off challenge kick started, (might be too late now? Who knows) But I think if this change works, there'll be less calls for team changes, or there will be from me anyway... Best top 5 in the leagues (definitely not bias ) And if we have decent reserves too, I'm not complaining

Fans prerogative to air their views when some riders are below par and the team doesn't perform. As s Redcar fan I find yours a funny comment given the teams and criticism aired by Redcsr fans regarding recent team members.

If only our Berwick promotion could have been as proactive as the Diamonds and snapped up Bowtell, we might very well have had something to smile about this week. Good luck to the lad and you Diamonds, he might very well turn out to be the ace in the pack for you.

I was highlighting that despite what some posters are saying, management don't act on fans comments, they will decide themselves on best course of action.  Sadly I found your comments highly predictable!

Bryce
One thing the Diamonds are guaranteed from signing Alfie Bowtell is 100% effort. The young man gives it everything and is very willing to learn from his more experienced team mates. He's also lovely with the fans. I wish him all the best in taking the step up. I hope the Diamonds fans don't expect too much too soon. Alfie is young and inexperienced and still has a lot too learn. He is still inconsistent but the great thing, as others have said, is that he is dead keen and wants to learn. He came to the Lakeside track which didn't suit his style but he has impressed everyone with the way he has buckled down and learnt to ride it. Given time I am sure he will prove to be a good signing for the Diamonds.

He looked steady and assured and that he had something about him.
dantodan
Good signing Alfie, learn Brough Park's tricky track and you will go away a much better rider. Does anyone know how bad Ben Hopwood's foot injury is ?

He looked steady and assured and that he had something about him. That doesn't surprise me. He is not short of bottle. I can't remember who it was against but a few weeks ago two opponents made gThe gate and were team riding, keeping Alfie out. 90% of riders, especially those with limited experience like Alfie ve settled for third but Alfie kept on trying to split them in the gutsiest ride I've seen for a long time, riding really close. Eventually one of the others fell off and Alfie got excluded on a near 50/50 call by the ref, but far better someone goes down fighting than settling for a safe third. Â But, as I said before, keep in mind that he is young and inexperienced, and don't expect miracles every meeting
boomerang
impressed with him on sunday if the two reserves can get 3 points each home and away they will more than done there job, then its down to the other top 5 to perform then maybe have a chance of picking up a few away wins or at least getting a point in meetings where we would,nt have and might have an outside chance of making play off,s if only a slim chance
Dandelion
A question... Â Adam Ellis' new PL average (as of 10/07/2017) is going to be 4.17... He started the year on a 7.64 average... Â If, for example and this is purely just an example, we dropped Ashley and brought in Adam Ellis, would his average for our league be 4.17 or 7.64 (which wouldn't fit) The two leagues shared averages at the beginning of the year, would this now be the case for the rest of the season? And season's to come? Â This is just examples because I think I'd prefer Ashley over Adam anyway, but it's just a rule I'm curious about how the averages for the PL and CL work... Â Adam Ellis would be a bargain on a 4.17 average!!!
