Diamond geezer
I think if we can put the same amount of effort into the team as we did last year we have to have a good chance of a successful season. Here's hoping we are on the front foot with signings as riders being snapped up quickly

As for 'hanger on' we've been through all that before.

George said himself in Speedway star couple of weeks ago that him and a certain other promotor/ director were in long distance phone calls over the make up of the team

mauger65
thats where the shrewd management/team building come's into it  your taking more of a leap of faith with inexperienced unknowns ...................  I think my real point is the weakness of reserves in this years huge 10 team league ... means that a team whose 2 reserves could click - could walk away with the league easily I can easily see a decent reserve pairing picking up 10 points per meeting (say sissis and ayres riding for Glasgow) whilst a few others with 2 danny Philips (a little harsh I know) will average 3 points per every 8 races in a meeting - a 7 point differential is enormous and I can see that happening  so far - teams are packing the main body and the its reserves being squeezed............. I just think the 40 point average will create a runaway league champion (and sadly not us)

highside
One question, if Newcastle won the league would they go up and if Poole finished bottom would they come down ?

highside
Â Apparently, everyone has agreed to promotion and relegation, so yes. It didnt happen last time , could Newcastle afford to go up ? Last time we were in the top league we closed following year , could be interesting. I just think the 40 point average will create a runaway league champion (and sadly not us) That won't happen they'll be miles over the top. They couldn't even realistically fit them in to their top 5. They would take up 7 points out of 40 leaving 33 ish for the top 5 so you are not going to get a powerhouse at the top end with that. Another point is finding guests if your 2 point reserve is injured. That is going to be harder. for example if your no. 7 is averaging 2.4. Last year you could get anyone on a 3.00 to guest, this year it'll have to be someone below 2.4. Narrows the options considerably.
The White Knight
Can see a few teams going to win the league.then throwing it in the play offs I can certainly see that happening. Â Serious question. Â Would anyone want Newcastle to be Promoted? Â Personally I would prefer them to stay in the Championship rather than taking a chance on Promotion and everything going belly up. Â Only my opinion.

diamond@heart
Just think of the Monday night racing as Polish league ride on a Sunday Would that only be an issue if you use riders who race on a Sunday, in your own team!! Surely they could not make us switch our race night just because it clashes with another countries race night. Would not want to go into the Elite League (sorry Premiership) anyway, has too many problems and I think the Championship is/was a better league.
