NJC71
Robert Branford would be a good signing on a lowish average. Rides Brough very well and seems to be a rider on the up although I suspect he'll have plenty of options. Â I was also impressed with Cameron Heeps when he rode up here for Rye House and is another on a low average who still has potential to improve. Â I think we need one big hitter. I wouldn't want to be going in with a 7 pointer at number 1. When we've had successful seasons it's always been with decent strength at the top. We need either Lambert or Worrall but I don't think you can have both with just 40 points to play with. My only issue with either is availability especially as there are so many PL fixtures next year. Â If we do that we could probably only have one 7-8 point rider as back-up. My choice would be Rene but suspect they'd go with Ludde. I can't see a place for Kus unless we go without a genuine number 1. Â Can understand people putting Phillips in given his average, but I don't see the point. Surely it's worth gambling on an NL 2 pointer who might improve as the season progresses. No direspect but Danny didn't improve at all last year and I just can't see the signs of improvement in him. Â Lewis Rose & Ashley Morris should be priority signings, especially with the low limit. Â No thanks on Victor and as much as I like Tero his fitness is too much of a gamble on a 6.5 average. Dandelion
   Simon Nielsen has (also) retired. Damn Really? I never knew that one either, I knew he'd left Redcar but didn't realize that he'd retired  I am certain that Knight would be a 2 as his debut in the PL was not good, Sheffield in 2016 I think as guest. Forgot that Knight rode for Sheffield in 2013, never got above a 3 though so should be a 2 pointer Also I thought that the 2 pointers only went by last years averages of people who failed to get a 3?  I remember him really struggling and talking to HalifaxTiger about him, as he had seen a lot of him presumably at Mildenhall/Kings Lynn. Sheffield used him as a NL guest in 2016, but never caught your eye. It was suggested he should replace Danny at some time during the last season, but others doubted he would be an improvement. He'd have been a gamble, but gambles sometimes pay off and we had nothing to lose with Phillips, no offence, but now I think Phillips would be good value on a 2 point average because he has a years experience and SHOULD be at least above a 2 point average come the end of next season  1. S Worrall 8.98 2. A Morris 4.83 3. Matej Kus 7.55 4. Rob Branford 4.6 5. Ludvig Lindgren 7.65 6. Max Clegg 4.04 7. Jack Smith / Danny Phillips / JPB 2 Dunno if it's just me but the types of riders like Branford, Clegg, Smith and JPB are really unrealistic I think we need one big hitter. I wouldn't want to be going in with a 7 pointer at number 1. When we've had successful seasons it's always been with decent strength at the top. 2012 season was pretty successful with Nedermark and Robson at 1 and 5, not exactly very strong With the final averages coming out my first impressions would be  1. Steve Worrall 8.47 2. Lewis Rose 6.12 3. Lewis Kerr 5.98 4. Ludvig Lindgren 7.69 5. Rene Bach 7.53 6. Jake Knight 2.00/Tom Stokes 2.00/Ellis Perks 2.00 7. Danny Phillips 2.00  Weak reserves but I think that it's the whole idea of the Championship, to bring in new, young British reserves Edited November 8, 2016 by Dandelion

diamond_ren
I'd be trying to get Lewis Kerr back especially on a 5.98 average he'd make a mockery of that. Although wasn't one of the reasons he never returned last time was to cut down on his traveling to home meetings?

Arson fire
I'd be pretty surprised if Tero couldn't at least hold his average given how the strength of the league has been watered down.but a winning team needs riders who will increase their averages, imo Tero, kus, lindgren, palovaara and rose ( not at reserve) dont fit that category on their current averages. Kerr, heeps, rene, newman are better bets imo.

Not sure at all about the others, in particular the sudden enthusiasm for Cameron Heeps, a kind description of whom would be unremarkable. Â I don't know how prevalent loan fed are now but financially surely it makes sense to try to use our own assets

That throws a lot of wishful team building out the window. They're just the averages for last year, anyone on a 3.00 average (Phillips and Greaves for example) as long as they've never had over a 3 point average in the past will go down to a 2 point average next year, or so I believe

Providing he's none the worse for his crash he could easily up his average. Potential 8-9 point rider for me. Don't necessarily get the pull for Newman. Been on a 6-7 point average in the old PL for several seasons now. Has scored really well in the EL but that's been as a protected reserve getting a lot of easy rides. Got to question why he hasn't moved through the ranks in the PL. Edited November 9, 2016 by NJC71
