The White Knight
Just heard that KL have confirmed that Danny has also broke his back, as well as his femur. Poor lad. I can only hope and pray that he can make a full recovery from these very serious injuries.
Brough Diamond
Ironically he was at the Berwick Training session last night, and was probably the best rider of the night and looked much faster and more confident on his bike. Any ideas of who to replace him that is available full time. I'll start with Jordan Jenkins. Eastbourne have some decent riders - could travel up with Connor after Saturday home matches

Awful to hear that is the case after all.I had got some messages via someone at the meeting who had intimated there was more too it but didnt feel it right to post as nothing official. Heres hoping for a full recovery with no long term damage.

kermitfrog
Hope Danny is alright! Will be hard to find a 2 pointer that is as decent as him! Many 2 pointers that we thought would hit the ground running (Jack Smith, Tom Bacon so on) haven't really hit the form that we would like however the potential is still there. It's hard because averages mean that your basically going to have to go with a NL rider that isn't too great as riders such as Ayres and Carr so on have achieved averages above 3.00 meaning they can't slot into teams as easy! Mad Max
Best Wishes to Danny for a full recovery. I know I have been critical of him this season, but it was more aimed at the team setup which made him the senior reserve, when realistically he should have not have had that pressure placed on him. Dandelion
Awful Awful news Get well soon Danny, please have a speedy recovery as you were stepping up big time in my opinion As a replacement, will Nathan Greaves get his 2.32 average from last year reduced? And if so, would it fit below the 2.19 we'd have left if Danny was out of the team... Other options I'd like to see would be Dan Halsey, Darryl Ritchings, Dan Greenwood, Ben Wilson, Luke Bowen (Although I have a feeling the two before has old, high averages), Georgie Wood or Henry Atkins (Assuming he's old enough, not 100% sure) Ryan Burton (Since he does a lot of 2nd halves) But there ARE options there, please don't use guests I don't think Josh Embleton would be good enough/be able to afford to travel to all these places as often as they are expected to Also, not a suggestion, but what average would Steve Boxall come in on? Gonna be really controversial here, all I'm gonna say is that it would sort out our reserve problem straight away and it would let Robert focus elsewhere with his EXTREMELY busy schedule, 2 teams in England, 1 in Sweden, 1 in Germany AND Poland..... Very busy boy, maybe on Sunday's too, he's already said Germany comes before England... 1. Steve Worrall 8.47 2. Nicolai Klindt/Joe Jacobs/someone else? (5.59) 3. Lewis Rose 5.97 4. Tero Aarnio 5.30 5. Ludvig Lindgren 7.69 6. Ashley Morris 4.98 7. Connor Coles 2.00 Edited May 8, 2017 by Dandelion
ruffdiamond
First off,,, best wishes to Danny. and 'Dandelion',,, a find it more controversial that you mention Boxall but agree that we should'nt plod on with guests, unless come the new averages we could maybe fit someone in (Liam Carr 3.00),,, but av got no idea what sort of averages everyone else will have, but am sure someone out there has a rough idea. Certainly would'nt want to change any of the rest of the team, as yet . Edited May 8, 2017 by ruffdiamond

With that team you are expecting Ludvig to become the 2nd heat leader which in the past he has proven he can't make that step up, especially away from home. Then you also expect Lewis to become the 3rd heat leader, I think Lewis is great and love to watch him week in week out but I don't quite think he is ready. I understand you are being controversial, but for me that just too controversial. I think we must be able to find another 2 pointer, James Shanes looks a good shout but I'm not sure whether Ippo are going to snap him up or I think he may have weekend commitments. What about Tom Brennan, Connor's Eastbourne team mate?? Just my thoughts. First off,,, best wishes to Danny. and 'Dandelion',,, a find it more controversial that you mention Boxhall We've had him before and never again. Plus with the number of Saturday afternoon BBQ's he has, we may never see him at Brough.

Certainly would'nt want to change any of the rest of the team, as yet . Yup, I agree, wouldn't really want Boxall in the team, I'm just more curious to what his CL average would be... I dunno when the new averages come out, but if we move before the new averages come out I am just suggesting what I'd do, good job I'm not the promoter Eyy... I really wouldn't want to change the rest of the team either, but with weak reserves getting weaker now we've lost Danny, what choice do we have if we don't want to keep watching 5-1s all the time against them (no disrespect) Drop Robert Lambert!!! Maybe I AM mad And yes, it'd be a HUGE loss, but I want to see strength in depth, personally, just my opinion, Ludvig struggled to make the step up to 2nd heat leader in a league stronger than it is now and he's been going good this year, home AND away, and Lewis is already our third heat leader... I was just throwing a suggestion out there James Shanes probably would ride for Ipswich and has Grasstrack commitments on a weekend so I believe, I think that's why he's a guest replacement for Ipswich, so that they can use other people on a weekend? I dunno... Tom Brennan is only 15 as well so I believe? If we were going to do something like that we might as well go for Kyle Bickley considering he's from up north, but I think he's too young too Does Robert Mear still ride? He doesn't have a team either... And a 5.11 average, which seems quite a bargain Edited May 8, 2017 by Dandelion

Ahhh, thanks very much, be interesting to see if George waits until after the averages come out to do a team change... Nothing to lose I guess as Danny will be 2.00 either way I would imagine

leander
Ahhh, thanks very much, be interesting to see if George waits until after the averages come out to do a team change... Nothing to lose I guess as Danny will be 2.00 either way I would imagine Yes Danny will be a 2.00 as he won't have ridden enough matches for it to change (currently 3.50 believe it or not). Danny is listed as our no. 7 so it's unattached National league riders who come in on a 2.00. You'd be surprised how few they are. A lot of national league riders with championship level experience don't qualify. It's not going to be much different after the greensheet averages kick in. I would suspect all our top 5 averages will increase so putting us over the limit. Might as well trial 1 or 2 with guest bookings to see how they perform before making a hurried change. The only other option is to perform major surgery on the top 5. The irritating thing is Liam Carr's actual average is 1.8ish whereas because he has previously had a championship average over 3. his greensheet average is 3.00. I reckon he would have been the best option available if we could have got him on a 2. Even though he's had a poor season so far.
