stevebrum
You're sounding even more like your 'uncle'. I didn't say they were 'playing' (can speedway be described as 'playing' unless it's the fantasy speedway you play?) for the cup did I? Like I said, they are 'playing' for a cup, it might be named after a minority TV channel but it still a cup isn't it? Unbelievably you are trying to claim teams are racing for a cup and not a league title. Ask your mates Tai and Sam to explain which is more important. Still want the postcode for Stoke to see fantasies come true?? Thought not. Sorry to hear that Steve, not nice when people get over excited and have those sort of accidents. Play offs are that exciting aren't they?
RBAR58
WHY? Do we have playoffs, to me its just a way of making MONEY. Leicester City ( football ) won the premiership on merit, they won there matches and finished TOP so did Belle Vue. So why the playoffs. I am a speedway fan for over 50 years so before any says anything I am not a Belle Vue fan. Just a fan of speedway and I don't like the way its going. marko
I dont know about Belle Vue tonight but i would suggest that tonights result will have a massive impact on what sort of gate Lakeside get on Friday, if it turns out to be a play off decider then i would expect it to be the biggest crowd of the season, conversely if Robins get a point tonight, Friday could be one of the worst although being the last meeting of the season people might turn up for one last hurrah so to speak. Steve0
You said it! Surprised his uncle hasn't joined in to be honest. Yes - and I was referring to you
stevebrum
So you don't think the winners of the knockout cup bit win a cup or are you just trolling like the fantasy speedway rider? He even acknowledges that "A trophy is presented for the league winners." but claims he has "No idea what 'cup' you are going on about." Classic forum trolling, his uncle must be so proud of him, lol! Bless, still, trying to bore on with the 'cup' bit. You haven't answered the question what the teams/riders/managers/fans are racing for in the play offs. Here is a clue, isn't a cup.
g13webb
I have always felt the league is devalued when all that is at stake is the privilege of picking your opponent in the PO's. The PO is only about money and promoter wanting to milk the situation for guaranteed packed house. Why cant we have both with the league winners going straight into a final, and the next four team compete against each other to win the honour of the other place. That way the League winners get rewarded for the seasons work, and the rest still retain the chance of reaching that final... It would only mean two extra meetings but would satisfy all of peoples argument.....

It used to be that the top 2 had home advantage in the semi finals, which I thought was better as it gave more credence to being first or second. I guess they changed it so 3 and 4 could get a good home crowd. Edited September 15, 2016 by grachan
