CB252 Posted October 9, 2016 Report Share Posted October 9, 2016 No way should they've had the MDL mtg before the ELRC, they HAD to produce a slick track for the boys hence it being useless for the top men .... ridiculous but I know why they did it. There was plenty of grip on the track. Hence Kennett and King recording 58 second times early on, which must be two of the fastest times of the season at Coventry. Â The racing actually improved towards the end when it slickened off. Â Some people think the race off at BV was bad because it was slick. It wasn't. It was bad because it was grippy. Perton Wolf Posted October 9, 2016 Report Share Posted October 9, 2016 Â Would be remiss of me not to mention the length of time Lindgren spent afterwards chatting to fans, signing autographs, posing for pix etc. I know it's easier when you're the winner, but he was there for such a long time and conducted himself with such grace and charm that I feel it really should be noted. He's fantastic after meetings at Wolves too. Was just saying to somebody the other day how much more likeable and accessible speedway riders are to footballers for example, means that the younger fans can connect with them better. A lot of youngsters will be waking up today looking at their signed programmes/caps/bodycolours and their photographs with the man and his trophy and thinking "I really enjoyed that." JamieE Posted October 9, 2016 Report Share Posted October 9, 2016 So after my moaning and whinging the lure of Saturday speedway got me along to Brandon in the end. Racing was poor, as has been well covered on here already, having said that, the sight of the quality riders Iversen, Lindgren and later on Harris going flat out around Brandon was a good spectacle. Best part for me was seeing the stadium packed once again, slightly surprising to me but amongst the doom and gloom made it a feel good meeting. Agree Phil, but the simple problem you're dealing with here are the riders. Â They won't do it. He spent a long time signing autographs, having pictures with fans and handing goodie bags to young kids. It was a lovely thing to do for the kids and you could see how much fun they had. Indeed - I used to collect autographs when I was around 10 years old, never had a problem getting one from any riders ! One positive from last night was Bomber Harris.
