ekimba
Dan Bewley's CMA is 3.55. This rules out several No 7's with higher averages. Â The only riders who seem qualified to replace Dan would be Messrs Hume, Phillips, Halsey, Perks, Payne, Wajknecht and Bailey. Â Rob Branford's average fits, but I don't think he's a registered No 7 -- Ben Morley is, I believe, Rye's man for that job. Thanks for that and Manse I hope you are right and we do pull something out the hat, got to keep giving something for the BSF to moan about
idh
now confirmed 3 guest + usual reserve guest The Rebels will, however, be without 3 of their team, Josh Grajczonek, Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright, on Friday night as they are required to ride for Elite League Swindon, whose match at Lakeside the same night takes precedent as, although both matches are re-arranged fixtures, Swindon’s match was re-arranged prior to Somerset’s match at Edinburgh, and in their place Somerset will have 3 guest riders, the Newcastle duo of Ludvig Lindgren and Victor Palovaara together with Workington’s Ricky Wells, whilst Nathan Stoneman will guest at reserve for Somerset in place of the injured Zach Wajtknecht. lucifer sam
And Josh Bailey!! Â Since Josh Bailey is out for the season with a collarbone injury, it might be difficult using him as a guest. Â All the best Rob

Cliffeboy
Certainly strengthens somerzet. How? Did you watch Tungate last night, and Josh is flying at the moment. Hope it is on though as the Monarchs have endured a terrible season with the weather.

Wells and Victor are known to go very well round Armadale, LL recently went through the card guesting for the Monarchs too. Â Josh is fairly inconsistent round the 'Dump and I don't think it's Rohan's favourite place either

Bagpuss
I'd say Somerset have chosen their guests well but don't consider that they have strengthened. Regarding Lindgren, it's completely different guesting for an away team compared to a home side, particularly on a track where the home riders are so strong.
Fromafar
The top team in the league visit with only 3 of the riders who got them into that position, that's Speedway nowadays,a shambles .
Popular Post scotchopper
The top team in the league visit with only 3 of the riders who got them into that position, that's Speedway nowadays,a shambles . Â Â This is the problem with speedway supporters and particularly people on this forum they want the world and they want it now. On the face of it your statement is completely correct however considering the monarchs have had 9 rain offs, all 3 teams that were still to visit armadale were asked for Friday. Somerset were the only team that were willing to race, Somerset and Edinburgh have the same race night so rearranging matches is difficult. Edinburgh run under fairly strict planning permission that doesn't give them any leeway run twice a week. The cut off is Monday (I still can't believe Peterborough turned it down) and somerset have 3 semi-finals to run as well as well as potentially finals. Edinburgh need to get home meetings in to try to get revenue to make up for all the rain offs and away meetings they have been paying for and the best night is Friday at 7.30. Â It is far from perfect and would match rather see a full strength somerset (and Edinburgh) team but given all this I would say well done to Somerset for getting a competitive team to armadale and I look forward to an exciting night of speedway, fingers crossed that the weather plays ball this week.
Fromafar
I agree with what you say but Im sure I'm not the only one thinking this and giving the fixture a miss, speedway is just getting itself deeper in the mire every year with there hair brained ideas.IMO.Riders are getting far to easy and simply mess the Promoters about nowadays.Cake and Eat It comes to mind regarding riders. Sympathise with situation at Armadale though.

speed ace
Sure Edinburghs alternative day is a Saturday could they not use it and have a match that day My thoughts exactly, even run a double header with an early start, 6pm? So that you can run two full meetings before the curfew.

Agree completely with the above , I remember we used Robbo quite frequently a couple of seasons back as a guest and he never let us down as far as I recall. He then came to our place with his own team ( Rye I think) and didn't do much at all and was quoted as saying " it's a lot easier riding with the Rebels than against them". It's always awkward with guests imo , one you can generally cope with , but three plus an untried NL rider makes it very hard. I hope they do well and wish them all the best and a safe meeting. TheScotsman
Sure Edinburghs alternative day is a Saturday could they not use it and have a match that day  Peterborough can't do Saturday.  And as far as I am aware we can't do Friday plus Saturday in a given week. scotchopper
My thoughts exactly, even run a double header with an early start, 6pm? So that you can run two full meetings before the curfew. Â they asked all 3 teams to come on Friday and only 1 of them said yes so not sure how they run a double header? As for Saturday half of Peterborough's team (Holub, Bjerre and Thomsen) are in Pardubice so I couldn't see them doing that even if Edinburgh offered it, it's a very strange situation if the Peterborough match does not take place before the cut off then Edinburgh are definitely in the play offs and they seemed to want to race the meeting and Peterborough who desperately need points didn't want to come up. Â Glasgow are probably assuming Newcastle won't win at Ipswich and are safe in 2nd place without running the last match. I imagine they will be straight on the phone to try and get something arranged if Newcastle do win. Â From an Edinburgh perspective if Sheffield get nothing tonight then they are in the play offs, so no pressure to arrange anything.
Gr8scot
There we have it then, Sheffield beaten by Rye House tonight with the help of the skipper, Sam scored 10+1(4) for Rye House. Unfortunately, Simon Stead had to withdraw with a wrist injury after his 2nd race..... Hope he is ok
