g13webb
Went along to the final Elite match of the season knowing full well the inevitable outcome. We carry to many passengers and guest to compete with the might of Poole, especially when Holder is on a mission. Last night he was something else....The Stars did show some spirit and most done their bit, but it was always going to be hard without your No 1. This is not a dig a Danny king who I thought rode much better than his points showed... Â As usual, disappointed with the track. We had to wait till heat 6 before we got an overtake, that was more down to Holder than the track. Of the 15 races only 4 produced any passing all the rest was 'Gate and Go'. Huckenbeck riding round the outside of Ellis and Pedersen in heat 8; Huckenbeck again, and Lambert in heat 14, and finally the race of the night from Lambert in heat 15 when going last to first.... If we are to continue with this sort of track then our team will need to improve their gating because . because most races were decided by the first corner.... Â A big well done to the Supporters Club who made a massive effort to show their appreciation to the riders in, what has been, a difficult season. The bit I found difficult to understand, and bloody annoying, was that this being our last home Match, all the riders out on the centre green, and Kevin trying to interview them for thoughts and feelings, and all we could hear was them bloody tractors going round and round and round, for what seemed like an eternity. I and the people near me couldn't hear a single word. . I think this more any anything else epitomises the problems with our club. We have all the people out there for a purpose, trying to do right. We have the commentator trying to put on a presentation that the supporters want to see, .... And Buster doesn't give a damn..... to the Supporters Club, the Riders, the Commentator, the fans. he is totally oblivious to anything accept doing this laps on his tractor. When thinking back of the first half of the meeting, it wouldn't have made much difference had he forgone any preparation at all. Fortunately he stopped in time to hear the presentation of the trophies, that mostly went to Lambert... Such a shame the communication and organisation is at an all time low...........
Gavan
Very easy win. Wonder what the score would have been had Hans been riding. He scored 14 in the A fixture and his replacement Tungate only scored paid 5. With Tungate riding every day this week has he run out of steam, or if not perhaps his bikes? So close to finishing top of the league. The ef in heat 14 the difference between Poole and Belle Vue. Roll on next Wednesday and I expect a trip to Monmore. but you don't troll lol. Making a statement that is totally false like 'the engine failure in heat 14 was the difference between Poole and Belle Vue' is simply there to gain a reaction. That's what trolls do as they get a kick out of peoples responses. Surely even you aren't thick enough to think that's what stopped you coming top!! Bjarne is only just about cutting it as reserve as it is. Newman is our big weak link imo.[/quote Ellis at home will be fine but will need to step it up away. Bjarne at heat leader could be an issue but the biggest concern has to be Newman only 3 points on a track that should suit. Just an opinion A typical SS post. What could the score have been had Iversen,Rose and Lambert have ridden and Porsing not been withdrawn .You only ever see the negatives on the Poole side,as if its only Poole that has the bad fortune You didn't finish top of the league, get over it.You still have the play-offs. good post. Only Poole get injuries or have riders missing lolNewman a weak link? Did fine tonight and he is far better than many edr's. Don't think we will have to worry about Kyle. He will do his job with 100% commitment.i can get on a bike and give 100% commitment!! Irrelevent he needs to up his game

Mimmo
I know what you're saying about the tractors GRW123, it's so annoying when you can't hear what's taking place elsewhere. Where I was positioned, I could still hear the interviews by Kevin, so I was lucky from that point of view. But quite often I've been at tracks and suffered what you did last night, and it's not acceptable. Â One of my big gripes at a great many venues, is the announcer/presenter gives out winning times when a rider is still on the track with his engine roaring. Â I don't post to much about King's Lynn on this forum, even though I do read peoples comments, and both agree and disagree with a lot of them, but will pass comment now the EL season has finished (whatever happened to the good old days when we ran right up until the end of October!!). Â There's been a huge amount of criticism about the team this year, and yes, the promotion did get it wrong when putting the side together, possibly because we waited to long for Niels to declare his intent, but hindsight and all that. I've got no time for Troy Batchelor as a rider, but as he quite rightly said last night, he or no one else don't deliberately ride badly, because no points = no bread on the table. So although as a team, we were not good enough, by the standards we've come to expect, I'm sure that EVERYBODY rode to the best of their ability on every race night. Â So from a personal point of view, I thank each and every one of you that donned our colours throughout 2016, for putting on a show for us....and doing you best. Â To Keith, Rob and Dale who all accept that mistakes have been made at management level, have been 'Man' enough to publically admit that, something some promoters would never do. Â So thank you Keith in particular, for ensuring that speedway continues in the town, because it doesn't matter how good or bad our race meetings are, long lost fans of clubs like Oxford, Reading etc., etc. would give their back teeth to be in our position. Â With a few National League meetings left, it would be lovely to see a lot of you attend those. THE NL Pairs Final was possibly the best meeting staged at the arena last year, and with both Eastbourne and Rye House to come in search of league points, there is still plenty to enjoy before we all go into hibernation. foreverblue
Lol! Â Next thing you'll be saying Belle Vue lost the final because the ref didn't notice Newman wasn't wearing goggles ha ha! Next thing you'll be saying is Zagar should of been excluded for knocking his deflector off in heat 7 when he hit the fence. but you don't troll lol. Trees
Inevitable result as others have said but our boys had a good go, sometimes effective, sometimes not. Â I,too, was very disappointed that Buster didn't stop grading during the interviews 😕
foreverblue
I thought it was not a bad meeting, Holder and Lambert had a good battle early with passing and re-passing and a few passes later on mainly by Lambert, Porsing withdrawing didn't help them but Batch looked a bit better than of late but overall a very easy win as expected. Holder is really rolling back the years at the moment, it is a long time since he has ridden this well and it is good to see, even Kings Lynn fans seemed to enjoy it. Buczkowski looked a little better but whereas Holder was smooth and letting the bike do the work Buczkowski seemed to be fighting it and riding narrow when i would say his normal style is to ride the boards, may be a confidence thing. Kurtz and Tungate rode pretty well, Ellis rode well overall and i think it will benefit us when he drops back to reserve.
SteveLyric2
As someone says on the Poole forum, finishing runners up in the EL placings with the most points scored and the least conceded no matter what happens in the remaining EL meetings, is no mean feat!! Why wouldn't Poole want the first leg on their normal race night next Wednesday. Â Wolves are useless around Wimbourne Rd(worse than the Pirates are at Monmore) Â They could quite easily build up a margin of around 15 points, and if they cant defend that then they don't deserve to go through to the final. Â Like you say, Holder has really come on of late and was mightily impressive. But I feel you are too critical of others in the team, who to me rode very well. Ellis has come on leaps and bounds this past year and he too impressed me with his paid 8 last night. With him dropping to reserve could be detrimental having to move Pedersen into the main team. Pedersen, Kurtz and Buczkowski all rode very well and adapted to the track quickly. They will all serve Poole well in the Play-offs. Â Tungate, surprised me last night. The gating tart we all know he is, showed a different side last night when being attacked from the back. Twice he flipped his rear out to block the rider as they swopped round the outside on bends 3 and 4. In each of these cases the rider behind averted the pile up by taking evasive action, but Tungate's intention was mindful... Whatever respect I had for him as a rider dropped a notch last night..
