King's Lynn Stars 2017

Recommended Posts

Been with Buster today. He has removed all the old shale down to the base and when he is not swearing about the weather, is replacing it with new shale. Needs to go down dry and stay dry to pack it. Track will be very good and all looking forward to the start of the season

That sounds promising, thanks for the info!

You mention that "Having sub-standard shale" helps to keep the club operating.. or words to that effect... How many Speedway supporters have abandoned the Speedway because of this?

How much gate money has been sacrificed? How many paying adults now do not attend Speedway racing at Saddlebow Rd per meeting? 100? 200? 300? 400?

Just say for the purpose of costings you've lost 200 paying adults per meeting..... at say £30 per fan, taking into account stadium admission, 1 programme, 1 food, 2 drinks, that equates per meeting, lost revenue of £6,000!!

That's just at 200 lost fans, so a drop in crowd from 1,600 to 1,400, not taking into account any additional children, and their mates.....

You telling me that you could not remove and swap the top racing surface for less than £6,000 per meeting??

That would surely be a no-brainer, or have Lynn, riding on sub-standard shale, providing sub-standard Speedway racing, actually hasn't effected the crowd levels that much? Even losing half that, 100 paying adults would cost £3,000 loss in meeting revenue..!!

Can someone explain the true cost of a shale swap between cars and Speedway per meeting? Can't be £3,000 per pop? Even including some new shale, and labour?

That's assuming that any reduction in crowd numbers results solely because of the reason you have detailed. There way well be numerous other factors that have played a part.

How many clashes are there likely to be? If it's several I'd say knickers to them and sign somebody else.

There could be many with the Ekstraliga looking to run meetings Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

That's not overly the issue, the problem comes with their rearranged fixtures that could take place mid week.

Poland are demanding from their league riders that these too are priority over any other league.

Every club that has an Ekstraliga rider will be having the same issues.

If it comes to the crunch and Buster says no, Holder will leave rather than be pushed as this demand from Poland is in his interest too because there's no way he'll give up the Torun position.

good if that's the case. Maybe these riders will grow a pair and tell Poland to go and do one. If they all stand together then Poland may do a rethink.

Dump holder sign Danny King and with the points difference sign a better no7 - though would that affect the Trucks are us sponsorship ?

I'd had that thought too but Ipswich will have priority over King.

Once all countries have published fixtures, if a club rearranges a meeting and riders aren't available then tough titty.

Be interesting, Holder knew the rules and chose to sign for Lynn, be interesting what Buster's take would be as BSPA Chaiman, I like Holder and glad he is riding in GB and the fact he struggles at Wolves is a bonus for me although I don't really understand why he does
