King's Lynn Stars 2017

Cant believe your philosophy about a No 7. He is a rider destined by the worse average. and would not be expected to beat heat leaders. But he is more than capable of scoring points in reserve races and that something we have been missing with Bailey. All riders points scoring ability is of equal importance. Every point our rider scores then that equates to double because the opponent rider cannot secure the same point. If a reserve scores nil her is of little use, but if he scores 4 pts that actually equate to 8 , because that 4 pts the opposition cant score......

So the few points Lambert scores will be worth far more than we do at present.....

Or in other words, a 43-47 defeat turns into a 47-43 victory. :D

Still waiting to see you name a rider on 3.31 or less that you think will be lots better.

Come on hair who do you think?

Lee Payne, Nathan Greaves or Liam Carr all worth a shout...

Well if he was to make a comeback then, his average would fit.Didn't realise he had retired but his average is still on the list for 2017 team building.

The list just has every rider who rode last year, although I wish Olly would make a comeback...

And you think those are better!

I don't.Lambert has started poorly but will out score the above and he will only get better. Can't see anyone better on that average.

Not sure Matt would do any better with the points on offer ;)

Lambert is surely the best signing Stars could have made, certainly strengthens them at reserve. He'll be one of the better number 7s in the league, if he can score 3 from 3 heats, which he is quite capable of doing, then that is likely a 4-5 point swing per meeting.

what Stars really need is for Holder to fire consistently, as the rest of the team (bar perhaps Porsing) have more or less been doing their job. If holder can add 3 per meeting, which tbh he should be doing, then between that and the resreve switch your looking at a 10 point per meeting swing.

Think Lambert is about the best signing you could have made at 7...ignore his low PL average in this division he's certainly good enough to score 4-6 points , the way the heats are planned out two decent gates and you've got 5 points potentially , some of you are talking like he's a wobbler far from it

He was scoring 7/8 last year at reserve 😊

I agree Lambert will score more than Bailey but that doesn't say much . I'm sure Lambert will go well at Lynn but away on the smaller tracks were we need 7 riders in the points that's were he will let us down - sorry if some don't agree

Nobody has come up with a better rider (point wise) than Simon yet Perhaps when the new averages come out which must be soon a better rider will be available. Until then we got to carry on with what we have got.

that's my thinking once all our team have a new average if more points for a change are available we should make use of them - Lambert could be a short term stop gap .

How many teams truly have seven riders in the points?

arguably Leicester, Rye, Somerset.. there issues are that there top ends are not strong enough.

You can afford to carry a weak 7, its only 3 riders per meeting. But a strong top 2 is a must, as that is 10 riders per meeting.

Lambert should mean KL have 7 riders contributing most meetings.

Seeing as Lambert's signing seems to be all above board it's a very good signing.

People saying he won't be any good away, who cares.

We're struggling to get things done at home and that's the priority thought right now.

If Simon only gets 3 rides and scores 3-5 a meeting, that's all the difference from a close meeting to a comfortable home win.

Not really better, but no worse, also think Nathan and Liam have much more potential, give the kids a chance rather than recycling the oldies!! :P

Damn yeah, I forgot Nathan rode for Wolves lol

Couldn't yous have fit Max Clegg in? Just out of curiosity

I think Lambert is a wonderful acquisition and will fill a gaping hole we have at present. If he was able to score a few points he will more than justify his inclusion. In heats 2 and 4 when races against his opposite number he needs to take points from him...... All the other races are covered by other riders.....

Our 3 heatleaders are all capable of winning races. (Holder, not firing on all cylinders yet; Batchelor getting better with each meeting; and Lambert wanting to excite) cover 12 races between them and equate to 14 races where it is possible to score a collective 40 points;

Our 2 second strings and top reserve are all capable of backing their partner also scoring big points, The advantage of having Rose, Porsing and Huckenbeck as the second group of riders means one of those has to be place in the reserve berth, giving him the opportunity of extra rides.., This alone could be of tremendous advantage, not only for the club , but also the rider. Huckenbeck has been on fire of late and will be promoter to the team proper, swapping places with Porsing. He, although has tried hard, has found points harder to come by . A spell at reserve could be the proverbial he needs to recapture his proven ability. He is way too good to stay as a reserve and will be able to score points for fun....

So you see, the Lambert replacement is not expected to be a top scoring match winner, all he has to do is out score is opposite number in 2 races.....That alone could prove decisive in tight matches......

As slow as the start of the season has been you can see the improvements slowly.

We've had to many seasons starting off fast only to see it fade badly towards the end.

Most importantly if our lads can have an injury free season for once I still believe we'll be there or thereabouts come the Play-Offs.

We just need to get Porsing going, there's not many rider's about as good as him on their day.

Saying that, still wouldn't mind Tungate in and get that Aussie factor back in the team.

We always seem to be at our best with Aussies in the team, especially in the PL days
