Trees
Riders like M Loram and Henka made a meeting memorable with there racing style. The last rider to create atmosphere was S Parker. Races are mainly won from the gate now so there's not much to get the crowd excited about. Can't blame the management for that. Bikes are to quick ,tracks are to slick.Christ, don't u enjoy watching Lambert, he's fantastic and a Norfolk boy too! Always does at least one great pass a meeting 😊 We'll see if total honesty is allowed, I'll speak to Gav Wednesday I have a 2yo to get home after the meetings, I sure as hell ain't attending press conferences All comes as an extra expense to the fans. I don't see anything the supporters club do give anything back to the fans. That's not a dig at you, it's not your responsibility to do that as it should be the club directly that does incentives. Nothing is added to the fans experience in terms of atmosphere and quality of racing. I recently went to a funeral that had more atmosphere than the AFA. I've not read anyone laughing at the supporters club, and every club should have one. What Peterborough do is all well and good but none of those add to the race night experience. Neither should they, it's the responsibility of the management to deliver that to the fans. For those who win the 50/50 draw, watch a race from the centre and choose their Rider of the Night it does. We also do shout outs for members birthdays. What else do you want us to do? Your ideas are very welcome!
stevehone
a mascot as often as possible, get a picture with rider of their choice. get a few kids on the parade truck, gets them involved and they remember it, they're the future.
mrss
Yes. I do enjoy watching Rob Lambert. Problem is his passes are usually the only ones in the meeting.
waytogo28
Lambert is the only Shining BRIGHT part in the "racing " bit of speedway racing at the AFA at the moment. Of course we have been very fortunate to have seen him develop from those first National league stupendous appearances and been fearful every year that he would be tempted away. But I have never believed that one man in one race is " worth the price of admission alone". Go Lambo! The world is your oyster! Step up to the plate the other six please. especially our new superstar if you want the fans believe that you really want to be part of the KL Stars. I believe King's Lynn are holding Lambert's progression back. He needs to be at a club with a ruthless winning mentality. I just feel his career is in 'the comfort zone' and could stall. King's Lynn, Newcastle, Germany, 3rd tier of Polish Speedway. It's all too easy a choice to make.

Obviously he wants to get into first division Polish speedway but it's ruthless and you MUST perform or you are out on your arse. He's getting the experience over there, getting contacts, making it work, he's 19 and has 15/20 years ahead of him ....

I wouldn't disagree with any of the above - for me he's not progressed the way he should have . He's got to a level and not broken through it so far. Why is nobody questioning Buster ?Matt was dealing with his underperforming number one, by telling him his days are numbered for Poole. I can't believe that Holder won't sort his form out .... maybe, maybe not, we can capitalise on his poor form ....
g13webb
Once upon a time, to me British Speedway was a religion. My whole world revolved round speedway. I can remember going to every meeting, home and away year after year. The rows it caused between the wife and I were countless.. I use to meet up with Alan Littlechild and off we went. It not as though we were going to win, but the fight and passion, the atmosphere, the excitement , the banter , made it all worthwhile. I remember one year going to Coatbridge and winning , next we were in Newcastle and got well beaten. Miles and time meant nothing. You had this feeling of belonging to the club. They appreciated you and you, in return stayed loyal with your support.... How times have changed. Even when losing, Alan and Cyril always had their finger on the pulse. The fans always knew what was going on and what they were thinking of. Now we are a club with possibly the worst communication with the fans ever. It is run as one big secret making the fans feel unimportant... If the promotion are as distant with the riders as they are the fans its little wonder they perform like they do., Peter Adams, with his finger on the pulse, has stolen a march on every club with his forward thinking. Just for once, I would have loved that to have been our team.. But good luck to them . Having won 26 out of their last 30 races at home they sure are looking mighty strong. That's the difference. between them and Lynn. Here the fans are aware of our short falls and are only to willing to suggest their opinions. We don't hear a Dickie bird from the club, not even a view or response or a whisper., Yet someone like Adams goes out and sorts its.... Me... It wouldn't bother me if I go now or not. I hate feeling as if I'm being taken for a ride...... All the good times have gone. We have pay good money to watch processional races, The generated atmosphere is false . The riders think their Gods and we have to bow to their every whim. Where once they would mix and talk with the fans now they cant wait to go.. Its a far cry to the sport that ruled my life for more years than I care to remember..... I feel sorry for the young supporters who don't know any different, At least my memory banks are full of all the good times that Speedway once was.....
Trees
In the times you were talking about I was a child so didn't know the feeling you had back then. In those days though I do know there was so much more money in British Speedway, I guess the promoters were full time promoters so of course could give their club more time and energy. A bit like Polish speedway now I guess. Also in those days you were obviously close to the promoter, so it was totally different to what you see and know from behind the scenes now. You really ought to speak to the management about your concerns .....
Star Lady
Very eloquently put GRW. I felt the same and am grateful that I have those wonderful memories of defeats (and a very occasional win) up and down the land and the feeling of belonging. Sadly they are something this generation of fans can only dream of.

When this 2017 team was put together and the changes in management I was absolutely buzzing for the season to get going. So much so, I've bought my first ever season ticket. Only 2 meetings at home and oh boy do I regret doing that now. My old man isn't going to go any more due to how bad things are. the times you talk of was when I started going to KL 1972 was my first season - in those days all we had for fixtures team updates was Lynn news twice a week and the speedway Star once a week and we was more up to date than we are now with websites Facebook twitter all are instant no waiting it makes the current lack of information a total joke - and when we the fans do have opinions we get labelled key board worriers by our team manager rather than answer some of the questions. Apart from the first season back in the top league, which Jonathan was still involved the racing has been bad but this season is the worst it's ever been. Trees
Did none of you enjoy our PL days, funny old lot. I'm concerned about the quality of the racing and have come to the conclusion that lay down engines need to be abolished with up rights coming back again but meanwhile make the track slick so the riders aren't bombing round the end of the dirt line .... any other suggestions? Theboss
Did none of you enjoy our PL days, funny old lot. I enjoyed them Trees. The effort and commitment put in by our riders was way above anything I witnessed in the Elite League. This clearly feed into the crowd and every meeting felt like a cup final. No one understood how fans enjoyed the 75-15 thumping of Sheffield but if was not about the racing, it was about the effort and watching our team fight so hard with so much effort and commitment. Incredible days and I think that is what GRW and others are missing.
