em1500uk
I have a 40/45 minute journey so not quite as long as you but would hope most weeks to be done 7pm / or 7.15 on a late one and home by 7.45/8pm - would have thought 9 o'clock for you to be the exception. Personally would have preferred a 6 or 6.30 start but I do see the problem for parents like yourself. Be interesting to know how many children attend Newcastle meetings as I believe their regular race night and time is also Sunday around 6.30/7. Equally Kings Lynn who are a week(school) night track not starting until 7.30/7.45 I believe - not been myself this season (first in years that I have not) anyone know what their child attendance is like? Not brilliant in my view...
Crump99
new hammond beck rd. That's what they need to improve the catering at the EoES, a purveyor of a nice tub of minted peas.

The cockles were not to my liking but others loved them , watching proper rivals battle it out on track whilst the smell of fish was in the air , Cyril Crane kicking the Panther at the eoes priceless not like the boring so called entertainment of today. Here I am in the pits boring talking to Cyril Crane - it doesn't quite have the same ring to it does it? I doubt that anyone would remember that in 40 years although they would where Jack Millen stuck the mic,

But was you around when crazy Jack Millen ripped all the pennant flags out of the ground breaking each one of the wooden sticks over his knee before launching the trackside telephone at the crowd in the grandstand , no time for shower and change of attire as he was given police escourt out of the showground
scoobydoo
Yes good days the speedway world lost a great character in mad Jack car crash I believe , went one night to see him then they announced he had broken down on route dont get that happening no more , Ben Howe deliberately taking Ronni Pedersen into the 1st bend fence he was escorted by the boys in blue as well

Sad loss to the sport you either loved him or hated him , I believe he actually built the track at Stoke , He was a great character sadly missing in this day and age. Might be wrong but I think Jack Millen was returning from a meeting at Edinburgh and had his fatal accident on the A1 at Grantshouse. Certainly a character and larger than life.

Crazy Jack , mad Jack or Millen the villain whatever you want to call him he was box office , I once saw him ride at the old blackbird road Leicester track ,he was Reading's NO8 I made the trip just to see how he performed in BL DIV1 think he scored about 8 points
scoobydoo
How things have changed a number 8 in the old Div 1 was a Div 2 heat leader, now its hard to determine the difference between heat leaders in the EL and PL

Panthers89
Serious talent in Bickley. Shame based up north as will be a top top rider in the future.

Yes you may well be right , but just because they dangle a big carrot doesn't mean they will accept it like a certain rider did last season with Glasgow (All that glitters is not gold) but good luck to the lad anyway. proud panther
Really hope that Workington survive, but if they didn't, would be happy with Ricky Wells at number 1.
