Baldyman
No one probably. The management are far to soft. But surely if tungate was available on this low average..you would replace justin or kyle or both. Tungate and Ellis in for those 2 would be a vast improvement from what I've seen so far and would leave spare points to strengthen at reserve. if the panthers can fit them in then surely we could.. And other teams for that fact. Let's be honest, does anyone fully know what's happening this year in regards to averages/rules. Flappy seems to know and he keeps mentioning the same riders. It may still fit as I don't know what there averages are/ will be , come to think of it I don't think I know what anyone's average is. Baldyman
I would. See ya later. His average is only going down whilst racing for us.. What's the point in having a rider like that when you can get a rider that's average will go up. Like I said in a previous post though, our management are way to soft. TheScotsman
Replace Sedgeman before he does a Wolbert then. Sedgy needs to keep going as he is - might be needed somewhere next season.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
If you replace more than one rider though you can only build to the points limit . If you replace only 1 it is up to the rider being replaced average. which is all well and good when you know what the average of the rider is. There is however no confirmed conversion rate between the 2 leagues as yet. Supposedly a committee or perhaps an individual is assessing the scores of riders doing both leagues before deciding what the new multiplier should be. No decision was expected until all Prem teams had completed 4 h 4a. This could well be mid June. Until then it seems year start figures stand for Prem only riders (although Championships riders completing 4h 4a seem to be using these new averages in Prem redeclaration eg Kerr and now Lambert) Meanwhile a rider like Tungate appears to be in limbo not knowing if he will be 5.09 9.03 or possibly anywhere in between. All this is quite riduculous as a revised conversion was straightforward at 1.25 just by looking at the starting limits at 50 and 40 respectively. Leaving it until now just opens up all sorts of problems - not least of which is accusation of average manipulation and potential claims of favouritism if the eventual new figure announced differs from the obvious and appears to favour particular teams looking at changes.
TheScotsman
Couldn't have said it better Taps. The standards in the BSPA are like a limbo contest - how low can you go. Since there's no apparent sight of any marketing being done to get new punters through the gates you would have thought they would at least refrain from peeing off the few remaining souls too much but no they just carry on alienating everyone. You almost wonder if there is some betting on the go about which will be the next club to fold and then the next and then................. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
The most frustrating part is that it is such a simple principle/calculation. With just some minor complexity it would be possible to have worked out conversion factors expected for not only 2016 EL/PL but also for cross league cross year calculations which would have enabled rolling averages to be used whatever combination of rider participation between leagues in each year. This couldve meant a true one rider one average situation without the need to have riders on unachievable 12+ figures if it was desired.
TheScotsman
Absolutely. The insane idea of scrapping the rolling averages was just that - insane. Whether riders have been manipulating their averages or not (and certainly there are enough suspicious drops in some figures) the perception is there.
bigcatdiary
Wont Holder Starke and BWD get their new figures imminently? These would take you above 40 and mean any changes have to be like for like or shed the points back to 40 In which case Ellis would only fit for one of the top 5 and not either reserve and to replace Bacon would have to be a 2 pointer The only viable option there to make any real difference is Shanes Now if you have pulled that one off it is a masterstroke...... BWD 8th match was Friday at Edinburgh so should have a new average effective this coming Friday

New era Panthers
I'd say the latter but I'm guessing. Depends how frequently averages will change after 4h and 4a as Ostergaard is now down to 6.33 gsa and falling and Bacon is now above 2. The proposed changes currently fit by just 0.01 Official green sheet averages show Ostergaard listed at 6.70 and Tom Bacon is listed at 2.00 Edited May 30, 2017 by New era Panthers
