Peterborough Panthers 2017

How has holder scored on his other visits to the showground, discounting the 4's. What makes the panthers strong for me is the home form the riders will have. Hansen Lambert will score big points at home, and a top scoring reserve in BWD

11 from 4 2016 final

League meetings

8 from 5 2016

If you saw the pl4s final you would not be making the above statement.

Wierdly, just before the 4s final I was saying how disappointed I'd been every time I've seen him. Then he had a smashing meeting that included that ride that I'm sure many of us will remember for a long time. Suggests to me if he can find some consistency then he's not going to be bad.

The general consensus before he came over was that he was more Chris than Jack . Certainly that day at Peterborough he looked it . I reckon Panthers fans will really enjoy watching him this season .

Consistency is the key word. You can understand inconsistency in his first season as a young lad that is to be expected, but when everybody was tipping him to kick on in his second season, he produced a carbon copy of his first year.

I'm not saying he's rubbish here don't get me wrong, but he's yet to prove he's worth the hype that came with his arrival.

Big season this coming year even for somebody his age. If he has a third consecutive year finishing as an inconsistent 7 pointer, then you'll have to wonder whether that is his level.

The worry from a Panthers perspective, is that they are relying on him to be their number 1 and lead from the front. He hasn't shown to be capable of that as yet. Time will tell and it'll be interesting to see how he handles the pressure.

Excellent mature debating there

Holder was absolutely abysmal at Foxhall last season. Every rider in the land has off days even the very best at times, but you can't be having those type of performances from your number 1 too often and Holder had far too many of those the previous two seasons.

Again it's that word consistency, he needs to find it this year if Panthers are going to have a successful season. Big season coming up for him let's see if he delivers.

My initial response was pitched at the level of your own first effort Arch Stanton. 😜

Now your effort is much more reasonable and has a few valud points.

I paticularly agree with you '3 season' point. This is something I have in my mind about rider progress in general not just for Holder.

If a rider stays still for 3 seasons then generally he has found his level IMO.

There will always be a few examples that buck the trend although even with those there will often have been an underlying reason.

I will be attending some meetings at Peterborough this year off the back of his performance that day. I think he'll do really well at home once he's dialled in, maybe not so great away. Don't think he'll ever reach his brother's standard but will certainly be a decent rider.

Ah yes but that's to be expected seeing as I can't match your "A levels and O levels" credentials

;)

hehe - obviously youve been following my debate with GRW123 on the Kings Lynn pages 😆

They dont always mean a lot if theres no common sense attached too - some would argue thats where I fall down!(particularly on this pussycat thread) 😈

does anyone know if they got the track lazer levelled yet to take out the cambers if so hope they do not make a mess of the track at the LAMMA show this week

Nope, but it's a good question.

And it's refreshing to see a sensible post that's actually about P'boro Panthers instead of the usual inane chit-chat.

Ged (or maybe it was TS...?) did mention at the fans forum that the track was going to be laser-levelled; hopefully somebody will be able to update us.

Excuse my ignorance but can anybody explain laser leveling in simple terms? Is the track dug up and then re-laid with laser level precision? Or is it simply a laser is used to measure the dips & lumps and then the shale is raked about accordingly?

a sensor on a blade to bring the track to near flatness with a slight grade for drainage...

presumably this is for the base.

You can still prepare it like an over watered ploughed field after its nice and flat underneath if you choose.... 😆😆
