scoobydoo
They were a motocross style shirt and trousers. Still hideous , but even worse still I recall were the multi coloured t-shirt type over garments that Sheffield wore in the nineties I think, they flapped around all over the place Edited October 7, 2016 by scoobydoo
cambpanther
1. Ulrich Ostergaard 7.23 2. Kenneth Hansen 6.25 3. Rory Schlein 7.17 4. Lasse Bjerre 6.65 5. Kyle Newman 6.31 6. Simon Lambert 5.25 7. Tom Perry 3.76 Total 42.62 Slightly over the limit but if the final averages of the season are kind, it might just squeeze under or if not, have Holub/another 3.00 at 7? Perry is 4.26 J.Holder, Newman and T.Kurtz all go well at the showground and will all be looking for new team. Wouldnt mind either of thos Edited October 7, 2016 by Panther2006

northyorksbear
My view is that it Is still the top league despite it not being what it once was. Would a Man U or Chelsea fan want to be in the Championship because they perceive the football is better? I can fully understand that viewpoint, and no doubt many others would always want to be in the top division. I personally think speedway in GB can't be looked upon as having a top division which everyone aspires to, simply because the differences are so vast which negates the logical promotion/relegation scenario. Due to the structure of speedway as a team sport (eg rebuilding teams each season/guests/rr etc) I don't think you can make the comparison with football/cricket/rugby etc as they all have settled squads and in your example Man Utd & Chelsea would deem it as a failure even if the football was better. My big issue with the whole debate on what is better Elite or Premier, which gives better racing, who has the bigger names (Elite supposedly) is that I see the Elite league as a glorified premier League, or the Premier League is a watered down Elite - How many times this season has an Elite match contained a minimum of 8 riders who have regular team places in Premier league, often more! IMO for the sport to have credibility in its divisional structure teams should be of a strength which means only the top Premier riders ( and I mean a handful) are deemed worthy of having a place in an Elite team. Then you would say elite contained best teams and riders! I fear I will be dreaming for a long time. However, everyone will have their own views and the debate will linger on

The EL had all the bigger names and top Premier riders would struggle to score points, let alone win a race. The EL is pants and the PL is the better product (without any status though) as long as the powers that be don't bugger it up, as I'm sure that they will. So apart from importance and the few top riders there isn't much of a debate these days IMO but, like Rodders, I'd still rather be there anyway. Dumbing down the product just makes the arrival at the bottom quicker. And speedway has dumbed down year after year with the inevitable result. The best supported meeting in this country is Cardiff and I would suggest that is because the stars are there. Whether this will continue however is questionable as this country has fewer and fewer stars with whom the fans can identify. However all this on wrong thread.
jenga
Kenneth Hansen not wanted by Worky. Could he be our first signing? possibly . but you will have to add .50 extra to your team building efforts and that will take flying panther,s team over the limit . can anyone tell me where it says kenneth is not wanted by workington in 2017 ? laura has asked the fans to support her and turn out for the final meeting of the season v glasgow . + they are waiting to see the out come of the bspa circus meeting . scoobydoo
Seems strange making a comment like that on social media when Worky haven't finished there home meetings yet , is he deflecting the fact that he wants to move on by making it seem its Worky that dont want him anyway. Even more strange hes saying that when the situation at Worky is uncertain at present Edited October 7, 2016 by scoobydoo
Panther1997
My Panthers team for 2017 would be: 1. Brady Kurtz - 9.22 - after a not so good year at Poole, may want to drop back down to PL full time to get some confidence back. 2. Simon Lambert - 5.25 - fairly consistent and if needed to drop to reserve would be a powerful reserve. 3. Kenneth Hansen - 6.25 -IMO can put 1, maybe 2 points on that average 4. Lasse Bjerre - 6.65 -IMO can put 1 point on that average 5. Richie Worrall -8.33 - always impressed me round the showground, always a consistent scorer elsewhere in the PL. 6. Tom Perry - 3.76 -IMO can put 1 point on that average as shown, early part of last season before an unlucky break. 7. Danny Phillips / Danny Halsey or another national league rider - 3.00 - Phillips due to being an asset and sponsored by Ged. Total 42.46 Going on my previous team before hand, (if Hansen.s Ave does go up to 6.75) Then my 2017 team would be 1. Brady Kurtz - 9.22 2.Simon Lambert -5.25 3.Kenneth Hansen -6.75 4.Lasse Bjerre -6.65 5.Ulrich Ostergaard -7.23 6.Tom Perry - 3.76 7. Danny Phillips/Halsey -3.00 Total : 41.
Baldyman
Good team at home, total pony away. Could just about scrape a play off place if same formula as this year, which it probably won't be.
New era Panthers
Going on my previous team before hand, (if Hansen.s Ave does go up to 6.75) Then my 2017 team would be 1. Danny Phillips/Halsey -3.00 Total : 41.86 Wouldn't want Halsey or Phillips at NO7, I have seen enough of them in 2016 ,think we should try maybe Tom Bacon or Jack Smith from Brum or Connor Mountain from Mildenhall. All a bit raw at the moment but I believe they have a lot more potential to develop if given the chance but if we hang around thinking about it i'm sure they would soon get fixed up with other premier league clubs
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
I expect the points limit to be 40 or less and the requirement for both reserves to be British (possibly still no7 a 3 pointer as well)

Even more strange hes saying that when the situation at Worky is uncertain at present i doubt hansen comes cheap (i'm guessing that ) so worky probaly think he's not worth the £££££ (again i'm guessing) whats the best way to get yourself in the shop window and let everybody know , splash it over social media so you get more offers and a better deal , Going on my previous team before hand, (if Hansen.s Ave does go up to 6.75) Then my 2017 team would be 1.
