screm
Just like to point out to you that those you are calling national league wobblers are the future of British speedway and deserve to have the chance to progress personally I would like to see all premier league clubs having to include at #6 and #7 3 point national league riders of British nationality. I seem to remember in the early days of British league div 2 in the 70's most clubs were at least blooding one and maybe two youngsters with little or no experience of the leagues set ups and only been riding in second halves. Fully agree with you, I like the idea of having a draft system but IMO the BSPA didn't go far enough as it cant be right to have Konopka, Hollub etc finding themselves in a reserve position when a British draft has been put up into the top five simply down to averages.

Who's saying that they shouldn't progress? It's the structure to enable that progress that is the problem. So the dumming down continues if you have your way. I don't see any riders coming through who wouldn't have come through a 70s, 80s, 90s structure. What British speedway future do you envisage? Lack of quality and £10 admission objective by the looks of it. Edited October 1, 2016 by Crump99

Obviously my viewpoint is totally different to yours and I I have no divine opinion like yours of having to be in the elite league , costs need to be kept down or cut in some cases to allow speedway to continue at many clubs and having a 3 pointer at #6 and #7 would surely help these clubs survive and it would also help to cap admission prices. Then again you may consider to just carry on as we have been doing and see the poorer off clubs go to the wall.

New era Panthers
Who's gone to the wall? Apart from miss management Where did I say anybody had gone to the wall I was pointing out that there are clubs struggling to make ends meet and it could be a future possibility that some could go to the wall if costs are allowed to spiral just to keep up with other clubs who are pushing the boat out and end up bring over second rate foreigners .

Panther1997
My Panthers team for 2017 would be: 1. Brady Kurtz - 9.22 - after a not so good year at Poole, may want to drop back down to PL full time to get some confidence back. 2. Simon Lambert - 5.25 - fairly consistent and if needed to drop to reserve would be a powerful reserve. 3. Kenneth Hansen - 6.25 -IMO can put 1, maybe 2 points on that average 4. Lasse Bjerre - 6.65 -IMO can put 1 point on that average 5. Richie Worrall -8.33 - always impressed me round the showground, always a consistent scorer elsewhere in the PL. 6. Tom Perry - 3.76 -IMO can put 1 point on that average as shown, early part of last season before an unlucky break. 7. Danny Phillips / Danny Halsey or another national league rider - 3.00 - Phillips due to being an asset and sponsored by Ged. Total 42.46 Edited October 3, 2016 by Panther1997

scoobydoo
Didnt do the figures only in head from panther 1997 posts averages , also if Ipswich went EL and King rode for them theres the chance of King instead of Cook

After he disappeared when the going got tough I'd rather not as there's much better value on similar averages

Flappy
under current rules if King rides EL he cant ride PL. Max 2 years d/u reached since rule set. Same with Cook. That has to change surely otherwise the league will be even weaker
scoobydoo
Thats if the rule isnt changed again , will be hard on you Ipswich fans if you stay PL then , weird rules in speedway these days especially if this does happen to the two brits .
