I think some testing needs doing with airfences and how best to secure them down...

I reckon that it would be best to have a 2 level airfence.. one layer say 15 inches high on the bottom, and the rest of the airfence sits on that, most airbags seem to lift from front wheel impacts, around half way up, if that happens, the base layer of the air fence remains grounded and collects the rider/s....

What do you think peeps??

Terrible let down for Doyley.

But as Steve says injuries are unfortunately part of the sport. If you remember, Greg almost had the same himself when he won his last title ironically when NKI lost control. He was fortunate not to receive serious damage to his hand at the time.

Doyley has proven he's got what he takes and he's got at least 17 years to win the title 😀

Also It doesn't matter what Hancock does, it's not good enough for some people.

When he passes riders, which he had done regularly in this series, it's not because of track craft or skill, no, it's the other riders letting him through apparently.

I think BSI need to invest in the type of fence used by Kings Lynn, it's not an airfence and doesn't lift when hit

And if you don't believe me, listen to the moment Iversson goes past Hancock, his Woooo....ooo was one of dissapontment that his man had been passed. Don't beleive, play it back!

Does it really matter? We all have our favourites, it's just a natural emotion or commercial Grin ;-) . No need to make something out of nothing.

FIRST time on all my visits to Torun that I have watched from in the stands... boy do they carry some speed along the back straight. And, as Kelvin T explained, come off the throttle even for a split second and the bike actually picks up speed.

With regard to the air-fence. Young Briggo's new air fence would have probably prevented Doyle going underneath it although, as he says, the bikes are going so fast now. But, as yet, tracks are loathed to re-invest although it looks as though the Polish ones will be forced to do so. Safety is, or should be, paramount.

Really , Is this fact or rumour ?

FACT, just been speaking to Mark Lemon at the hotel here in Torun.

JASON D has a dislocated shoulder, broken elbow and punctured lung. Not good.

Terrible news and he must be so gutted, especially as he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Fate has dealt him a bad blow. But I am sure he has the drive and determination next season to win it. He certainly deserves to be called a World Champion after his superb displays this season.

Get well soon Jason.

Maybe on safety grounds, the time has come to consider a feasible way of limiting the speed of the bikes.

It might also change the balance more in favour of rider ability, rather than over reliance on expensive engine tuning.

Who came up with the air fence Idea . possibly a good idea , but not properly tested before it was forced into use . maybe since its not fit for purpose some sort of claim could be taken out against the supplier

This problem has been spoken about for years and riders have been getting hurt for years because of going under the "air fence" ..... how have either the company who make them or the promoters who use them got away with it. Shouldn't they've been made to make alterations to them, it's a defect after all ......
