Marksman
Would you expect anything else? Wells had 3 jump starts in the meeting? No wonder the Glasgow fans wanted him out of heat 15 after he had jumped it twice in the one race, if he didn't get away with any jumps he would be a 5 point rider and that's the truth Nonsense, he's just the fastest trapper in the PL. 3 jump starts tonight? they were all perfectly good starts from sitting directly in front of the tapes. 5 point average you obviously don't see that he scores double figures pretty much everywhere he goes. Gazc
Anyone heading back up from Workington and can see this been a fatal traffic accident on the M74 at Bellshil just after the raith we are stuck in it literally just were it happened.Traffic at a standstill if you can find an alternative route as motorway closed north and southbound. Only going from the 'nonsense' that is on the Updates site from the Workington fan, scores doubles figures pretty much everywhere he goes yet is on a 7.84 average hmm, the thing is he doesn't make perfectly good starts he's just a genuine gating tart, I would say the same about Jorgensen but he can still pass if he misses the gate where as I wouldn't have much hope in Wells from the back. If his gates was genuine he would be an EL rider minimum not a premier league one but a typical Wells home PL score is eg 31312 or 13320 and not something like 23332 or 33223 Anyone heading back up from Workington and can see this been a fatal traffic accident on the M74 at Bellshil just after the raith we are stuck in it literally just were it happened. Icicle
Wonderful irony! Just after (at last) getting away points then a (first) home loss.! Hope both getting home & carnage on road not too stressful or horrible, Edited September 10, 2016 by icicle
Lord Lucan
Very disappointing performance from the Comets especially after the win last night, certainly didn't expect that kind of a loss? Had a look thru the updates and it looks pretty much the one sided affair the score would suggest, some below average scoring from several Comets riders but, in all honesty, Glasgow just appear to have been the better side all round and deserved the win? I suppose that curtails any lingering hope of squeezing into the play offs that we may have had but, to be fair, we haven't ridden well enough away from home to be anywhere near dangerous to anyone left in it so, probably a good thing to be despatched good and proper now rather than lingering about hoping? Certainly not looking forward to the LC Semi after this unless we are prepared to give it the last hurrah, nothing else to play for, all guns blazing attitude that it's going to take to shift not just Glasgow but Sheff/Somerset as well, going to be a very tough ask now, confidence will be down but, you always have to hope otherwise, what's the point of it all? It's a shame I couldn't make this match to judge the quality of Glasgow myself but looking at the score I think pretty safe to say they'll be up there with a big say in anything they have to compete in, look a very solid and capable side, maybe a slight question mark on some away tracks but, when needs must I wouldn't write them off anywhere, best of luck fella's!! Stay safe people, that sounds like a bad accident up there!!

Being a good gater is all part of being successful, most sides would bite your hand off for that, it's hard enough as it is to pass on some of the tracks in British speedway. Also you can't really compare Jorgensen to Wells, he's much more consistent and although his rolling average dropped a far bit to 7.84 last month it's still a full point more than Jorgensen. Wells last 3 home PL scores before tonight were 23233, 33323 and 23223.
Popular Post crazysue
Texter comes across as a bit of a wally with his ad nauseum comments about Bach. Well without the 'wally', there would have been no updates on the site.....ok we are all guilty of going on at times (me most def included) but please do remember that us 'wallies' give up our time willingly and with no recompense to bring our 'nonsense' to others so that they can be kept informed if not able to make it to a meeting.

Bagpuss
Indeed, I'm one of those 'wallies' too on the odd occasion that I go to Lynn and you are in a pickle (Bagpuss). However criticising a particular rider in four of his five heats is a bit much and opens that person up to comment. We all appreciate what texters do for us all but I think there is a responsibility to do it in a mature, sensible and almost professional manner. We've all done it in the heat of the moment but this was a bit much.

I agree (I was in the stand too). I am strongly against taking advantage at the start but I have never seen Wells move yet - he simply drops the clutch at precisely the right moment. I really don't see what is wrong with that. Another entertaining meeting at Derwent Park with the score not giving a true impression of the quality of the racing and in front of the biggest crowd I have seen there for a long time. Workington were disappointing especially given the motivation they had to win but Glasgow are a very good side with Rene Bach in the form that he was. Definitely coming back again to watch some more of that Edited September 11, 2016 by Halifaxtiger
jenga
i personally dont mind the one sided stuff sometimes . i have a genuine feeling for anyone who gives up their time tr a speedway meeting to do a load of txt,ing , while at the same time trying to get into the swing of the meeting and the craic with those around . they dont deserve the feedback some of them get . so if its F.T.G. all the time you want, keep moaning. all txt,ers and up daters do a fantastic job for us fans not there . some even get a cup of tea now and again . if this meeting had been at the start of the season, we would have forgotten about it and there would be no moaning . as it happens its come at a crucial time in our efforts to get into the top 6 places . whats up next ? oh its somerset and then those beatable tigers again . we have had a good season , so lets appreciate the riders/tex,ters efforts . without these people we would be waiting for a friend who was at the meeting to fill us in on the meetings ... long may it continue tigers were good , but i feel its somersets to lose . tyretrax
So that makes Ricky a gating tart in some peoples eyes, not mine. Gating is part of the job, so is good luck, but some refs just don't get it.

kevcfc
Thanks for the support ;-) Having read back through my texts, spoken to a few folk and read comments on the odd forum, I'm happy to announce that I'm quite comfortable with my views on last nights proceedings, and certainly not alone in them. I also have a reasonably thick skin (immeasurably more so than some riders, it seems....) and wouldn't dream of tempering my opinions for fear of upsetting someone or, God forbid, being called a name :-) i personally dont mind the one sided stuff sometimes . i have a genuine feeling for anyone who gives up their time tr a speedway meeting to do a load of txt,ing , while at the same time trying to get into the swing of the meeting and the craic with those around . they dont deserve the feedback some of them get . so if its F.T.G. all the time you want, keep moaning. all txt,ers and up daters do a fantastic job for us fans not there . some even get a cup of tea now and again . if this meeting had been at the start of the season, we would have forgotten about it and there would be no moaning . as it happens its come at a crucial time in our efforts to get into the top 6 places . whats up next ? oh its somerset and then those beatable tigers again . we have had a good season , so lets appreciate the riders/tex,ters efforts . without these people we would be waiting for a friend who was at the meeting to fill us in on the meetings ... long may it continue tigers were good , but i feel its somersets to lose . We've all done it in the heat of the moment but this was a bit much. I had to go back and read those comments on the updates site after looking thru some of these posts just to find out what all the fuss was about? Didn't see anything offensive, abusive or critical for that matter just a bit repetitive of the same thing, kinda like watching DAVE!! Having watched Rene Bach deteriorate over his last couple of seasons with us to the point of being happy just to achieve his average while riding at DP it was almost inevitable that coming back to Britain to ride after saying he wasn't and ending up in the PL again, our paths would cross at some point, last night was that occassion, and a 14pt haul riding like we knew he could was always a possibility? It's that feeling of disappointment that Rene didn't put that sort of effort in while wearing a Comets bib that's coming across to me in those quotes, it's the texters opinion and he's probably not alone in thinking them but, what can you do, these things happen and when you lose badly at home as a result well, that just exacerbates the situation?
