2017 Potential Signings

Recommended Posts

I'm sure if Poole don't want Holder then he won't be short of offers from other clubs - assuming he wants to ride EL on 2017.

He looked pretty handy at both BV and KL!

I sure he would like to be part of a new era and a decent track at Swindon too! ;)

We would be weak elsewhere though

Accept that, Rosco would need to get a couple of new riders with very low averages who could improve. Or could these two be part of this shared number one spot as part of a squad that people are hinting at that may be in operation next year.

Tell you what, talking of new riders with a very low average who could improve....how about Batch?!!!! Only kidding of course! ;)

So, on a vaguely comparable average - would we prefer Sedgmen or Batch for 2017, if the choice arose?

I know he is not everyone's cup of tea (mine included) and he had an absolute shocker in his last year as a Robin, however, if I had a choice I know who it would be! Clearly the injury has affected him as he throttles off badly going in to corners and the impact of the injury to DW cannot be underestimated, but I think there is hope. He can still gate when he has to and on a five average only has to gate once in 4 rides plus a couple of points to be picked up.

For example, Davey Watt returned Lazarus like every couple of years, so anything is possible...

Well he is an ex World champion, who's had more problems in 3 years than you'l have in a lifetime..

Another moronic and totally random outburst from starman, I am seriously starting to wonder if he can actually read.

Batch has more potential. Interesting to see if Tungate comes back he might be a bit like Zengota and you fail to get him into your team. Tungate is a Poole asset so i'm sure Matt will take a look at him. Sedgmen just has not even had a purple patch he has just been average all season. These last few meetings really are interviews for the riders just a reminder to all promoters like Batch to Matt Ford last night.

Thought what Tatum said last night was quite telling - yes it is part of his job trying to get the product over etc but there will be a rider community appeal re racing for Belle Vue.

You get a club that pays on time, is a good base and affords a short working week as such due to race night you have loads of upside, throw in what riders will see as a safe track that gives them the chance to race safely, there are plenty reasons why it would appeal to riders.

:icon_smile_clown: Im starting to wonder if you have a brain cell between those ears. What you seem to fail to realise is that Chris has had so many serious injuries he's lucky to still be riding. But i doubt that even crossed your mind, did it..

Batch has been throttling back badly for a number of years now. I first noticed it about 3 years ago when in a couple of tight races against Holder and Ward at Blunsdon. In both races he could have beaten either of his fellow Aussies, but instead backed out and lost vital points.

He's not injured this year as he's riding regular here and abroad (and scoring points abroad so I understand).

He also used the terrible accident to Darcy as an excuse to his dreadful performances at the end of last season.

If he returned to Swindon, he'd be decent at reserve.

Decent reserve, you are being a optimist!

What are you wittering on about now? You don't know me so how can you assume that he has had more problems in his life than me? Also I wasn't talking about problems! Unbelievable!
