Scorpions 2017

Recommended Posts

well explained rob, as most of us know thats read the rules, its not rocket science.

nice to see so many riders back for another season, no earth shattering new signing to get folks excited, but given an injury free season the scorps have the potential to challenge for a play off place, i do believe there is potential for 6 of them to increase their starting average, MPT could be the guy to add 2 and a half points and become a genuine number 1 at this level and young josh could double that starting average.

looking for some good sunday weather to get me over to the best racing track in the land.

Surely Bailey will get his 2.5% British reduction, would mean he starts on a two.

Is that still about for riders who have competed in the NL within the last two years? If it does still exist, it would place JB on a 2.00 rather than 2.05. Not that it really makes any difference to Scunny's starting line-up.

All the best

Rob

This team can make the play/offs hope they can get promoted at some stage be great to visit when Swindon were in town. The racetrack is superb, Toft Douglas,Auty,Bailey,to improve there averages if Auty could stay at no 5 think he can get his top spot back in the averages.

With the old 13 heat format managers hands were tied even tighter with your top three having to ride at 1,3,and 5. At least the current format only ties down your top rider.

Are you sure i can remember Mauger riding at no 2 once can you remember? plus 1,3,5 usually are your top riders should you not be able to put your top three riders in whatever position you want.?For Scunny the no 1 position suits Douglas more than Auty because Auty is . something in front in the averages why does he have to ride at no 1 a silly rule again but this is speedway. Ah montie the font of all wisdom the gift that keeps giving. I have already offered an opinion on this team at the end of last season obviously you missed it so for your benefit moontie if you had started last season with this team you could have made the playoffs as for this season its difficult to say until other teams have declared their teams however looks on a par with berwick. As for comparing me to a female body part i know what you would be 😂

Going to try and keep the thread a live so please join in when you can. All it has to be is Scunthorpe Speedway relevant.

Alex Davies has gone home to Oz; so does anyone know if he is coming back next season; and does anyone see us operating a 'squad system' whereby we keep a rider like Alex 'up our sleeve' so to speak. In case of need.

Realise he is still recuperating from his bad injury last season; so a mid season return in 2017; might be suitable arrangement.

There is a mention of Alex in this weeks SS in that we hoped he would have a good year in 2016 but it did not happen. Rob gave him a chance, hoping to turn his form around, but, unfortunately, it did not happen, which led to us making further changes last season which proved very fruitful. He is on a bargain average, similar to Lewis, who could easily average 7 if fit.
