Belle Vue V Poole Elb 12/09/16 Sky Meeting

Recommended Posts

As we knew, the meeting showed that there are two good, at times outstanding teams. The winner if they do come together again is going to be down to their weaknesses imo. Belle Vue are far from the finished article and Poole will see a major overhaul in the close season. The good thing is that no one team looks head and shoulders over the rest and the playoffs are going to be interesting.

I agree not biased, but if there is a worse sports commentator on British TV than Pearson I have yet to come across him.

Andy Gray wins hands down. Then showed his true colours and got fired.

Clare Balding isn't too far behind in my estimates. I don't know if it's her accent but how she got to where she is, I haven't the foggiest.

I think Belle Vue will go all out to deny Swindon a point Wednesday preferring to pick Lakeside in a semi final. Swindon would be dangerous over two legs and we performed quite well on our last visit to purfleet, add to that the Hammers are the one team not to really push us at home and that choice would make sense. As we normally ride Wolves pretty well we would probably have a better chance keeping the score close there and giving ourselves a better chance over two legs rather than Poole where generally we don't perform as well. Either way if Zagar dosent start riding as a true No1 it wont much matter who we race, you wont win the title with a misfiring top man.

Why is it we have to suffer continuous abusive troll posts from this so called Ipswich fan Gavan on every Poole thread. I have blocked him weeks ago but now see every post as his trolling nonesense is quoted.

But I suppose finally everyone else has finally woken up to this guys abusive claptrap. His hatred of all things Poole would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. His aggresive postings and name calling render his posts meaningless. And he wonders now why no one will debate with him. Message to Gavan. Offering meak praise to a couple of riders then following it up with a tirade of abuse against posters will not help your cause as forum troll.

All his bridges are burnt to the ground. As a troll he has no more bridges to lurk under.

I will probably get some retort about me being a troll, when all I do is post on threads relating to my team, and giving my opinion on how we did or hope we are going to do. How that is trolling is anyones guess.

And more telling, he never posts on other EL team threads giving opinions on other teams.

Phew! Get out of jail free card used there. If it was any other team I think we'd have lost after an off night like that.

Bad day at the office, it happens.

Sure enough Tungate proved an exceptional guest and coupled with Zagars testing nightmare it saw a 18-20 point swing to give a rather non representative score line against poor travellers Poole - Holder apart, what a masterclass and terrific to watch.

Great racing again with Joe's rider being the standout. It only serves to remind us though that that won't happen if we ride down a Wimbourne Rd during the play offs. Gate and go just doesn't suit us but it's my opinion that it doesn't suit most fans.

Chuffed we finished top of the league, especially in out first year at the very special NSS, a sign of things to come?

Oh, on the crowd, it was around 1500 which is the highest attendance for a Sky match this year where standard pricing has been stuck to.

Zagar wasn't testing just crap at the moment, he wasn't testing in the GP! Joe Jacobs is good at Belle Vue but not good away so will struggle over two legs. Poole isn't gate and go we always get plenty of passing.

A good meeting to watch. Well done BV on the win. If anything I was a little dissappointed with the early Poole performances and thought Poole would scrape a 2-4 point win. Hey ho!!

I did then remember there will be a new set of official averages out effective Monday 19th for the play-offs. I suspect a slight re-shuffling of the Poole 1-7 aside from any replacement or guests!!

I don't think many think that any of that is wrong but it is the aggressive nature of your posts, why wouldn't any Poole fan recognise Holder was fantastic and looked back to his best which hasn't been the case for a few years.

Anyone who saw Tungate at Poole wouldn't think he was capable of that score despite his recent good scores at Belle Vue.

Zagar was poor but that was almost expected as his form lately has been down on what he is capable of.

As for the Poole track it is far from gate and go, always plenty of passing and exciting racing.

Indeed. A fair few of us hold this opinion. Many people on here say they tolerate him, but that's different to liking. Other than a few like Philp Rising who keeps telling us Sky think the shines out his arse, I have not really read of many people admitting they really like his commentary.

Hands up. I do. Rather a shouty than a monotone bore that we have seen before.

It would be a sad reflection on EL speedway if Belle Vue chose their semi final opponents based on potential gate receipts rather than their best chance of progressing.

I agree and would be very short sighted.I M O the club must do there very best to win the title as a league winning side should have more chance of attracting more fans through the gates for next season.Fans will turn up to support a winning side where as in most cases if a team starts to struggle the fans will drop away.

Poole are the main example of this win things great support. But from what i have read in 2009 when they struggled the crowds dropped off big time.

Jacobs at Poole won't score unless its gifted.

Zagar was third when he had an ef. Holder 4th.

To think we were so close to winning this tonight. If that ef hadn't happened we would have won by a point. Considering three of our team struggled big time I can only assume they would get better on their next visit, if there is one.

Zagar slowed down the back straight when in front, he would blasted right around the outside on bends 3 and 4 and out of site. At worst he would of oocupied holder for a while meaning cook would of won the race ending the meeting before your heat 14 ef. Belle vue won and deservedly so.

Also both cook at worrall tested new engines and set ups on heat 15 with the match won.

So are the stories that BV are £300k in debt and looking to get new promotion in asap not true then and everything at the NSS is indeed rosy including riders getting paid in full and on time?

Im told they are not true.

Let's be honest most rumores are false.

Exactly you must pick the team you think you can beat in the semi finals. Surely they would pick Swindon its a no brainer isnt it? Then if they get Wolves in the final i would imagine a monster crowd to see the 2 time World Champion.

Fans drop away everywhere if the team struggles thats inevitable n yes it happened to Poole in 2009.

mate i havent been aggressive at all on this thread.

Poole track isnt gate and go, sometimes the riders make mistakes on the ruts and others come past , though it has got better.

Holder must envy and wish Belle Vue was his home track, looks nigh on unbeatable round there
