Belle Vue V Poole Elb 12/09/16 Sky Meeting

Recommended Posts

The grandstand holds around 1800 so looking at the TV tonight I would say 50% full?

500 - 600 on the back straight would mean a crowd of 1400 - 1500?

Certainly not bad for a Sky match and definitely many more that the old place would have achieved....

No doubt the crowd was effected by the meeting not being that important in the grand scheme of things and the fact that BV are running 6 EL meetings in just 21 days....

Well done to BV for finishing top of the league. Wonder who their pick will be - Wednesday should give us a clue if they want Lakeside or Swindon in the last playoff place.

If Lakeside, I think they will pick Poole and, if Swindon, they will pick Swindon.

They will pick us??! We beat them by 11 at home a few weeks ago and we just lost by 3. They won't pick us!

I think when Frick is back Bell vue will be stronger

That is true, Hougaard is ok but not Fricke, Jacobs rode well tonight but he is a different rider away from home. Belle Vue certainly have some home advantage.

They could pick Wolves hopefully!

Not a bad crowd seeing it was on tv and Poole raced there last week.

Think it will be a belle Vue v Poole final which would make sky happy.

Half our team is out of form tonight and we only lost by 3. And we only lost by 6 at Wolves. So glad the playoffs have agg scores! But yeah be easier if we got Swindon/Lakeside.

Not really a team rider. And he has just told the guys from piratecast to 'stop whinging' when they mentioned the lack of team riding.

Did his job in spades tonight...

Did it the hard way too...

Great to watch.....

Wouldnt want him to get the chance of doing it again against us in either the semi or the final though!!

No matter how much I enjoyed watching him tonight!!!!

I know some will say we are crap at Lakeside with a few riders who struggle there but we also have a few that go well there and They are missing AJ which won't help them.

Tbh I think you can only really argue that Buzz is out of form. Aces could argue that zagar is out of form, plus Fricke absent.

Good win for the aces, at the same time poole must be happy with the final result.

Don't understand the people having a go at Ellis (seems to not be BV or poole fans) - he is still one of the EDR success stories this season (so too worrall and Jacobs), but away from home against a strong side if he gets a couple of points he has done a solid job. Must be getting close to dropping back to reserve for the play offs?

Good, even as an Aces fan, to see holder returning to form this season.

And congrats to the Aces on topping the league, even if we don't win the title the new stadium and performances so far make this season a success.

Have to laugh at starman saying 1000 at best in attendance.

More like around 1300-1500 easy. And for a sky meeting at belle vue that's good. Usually less than 1000 when sky are here

WOULD guess BV would pick Wolves if Poole still ###### second. Money in the bag even if they don't reach the final. Why risk losing the most lucrative fixture?

WHY would poole finishing 2nd or not impact who they pick? Fred Flange has been advocating picking wolves. But surely you go with the option which gives you the best chance of reaching the final and taking the title. As well as the increased chance of two home play off meetings rather than one?

I'd hope that nearly anyone interested in seeing the aces race in the semi would do so regardless of opposition?

The semi final will only be half full no matter who they ride while the final will be a sell out ...the most lucrative fixture is the final no matter what .

Great meeting and top of the league happy days.

Fricke was a big miss for BV if he would of rode it would of been 10 point win. Also Tungate was much better than hans, put him in tonight and it would of been a hammering. Also cook tried a new engine in hear 15 with the result done, zagar didn't have his fuel on in heat 13 he was leading when his bike started to slow and would of won the heat imo, all in all I think Poole were lucky to get so close tonight.

So BV to pick us then, if Swindon make it? Swindon and Wolves better there than us?

I have a feeling belle vue will pick wolves in the semi, for financial reasons. If Swindon finish 4th it's not as big a gamble but if lakeside finish 4th not picking them would be a big mistake.

No we will pick wolves imo

Unless Matt brings in a ringer I cannot see them progressing as some of their team are not performing, also it is unlikely they will have Rohan able to ride for them.

bucko did ok in heat 13 and he is coming back from injury see how he goes tomorrow, Ellis and Newman struggled but to only lose by 3 considering was a good performance.
