Sidney the robin
Disagree.. Never torn up the SEC and been beaten by riders who there is much less clamour for to be in the GP's Like I said he is capable of good meetings however also capable of shockers and would be lower than 10th IMOFor me he is in the top 16 riders in the world and if he had the motivation for a GP campaign he would be a really good spoiler. When i look at some of the riders in the series he is well worth a shot and he is one that does not care about reputations.Read that he would love an invite but like Emil i believe he is not happy about some of the financial issues Bjerre/ Laguta who would you prefer.? waiheke1
Laguta has been consistently one of the top 10 riders in the world in recent seasons imo. But struggle to justify a wildcard for him. Hope Freddie drops out of top 8 and it is 2 from zagar, lindback, puk plus emil and nicki. If you wanted the strongest line up, laguta arguably would warrant a place ahead of zagar or lindback.

PHILIPRISING
TERRIFIC news that Emil Sayfutdinov wants to resume his SGP career. What an addition to the 2017 line-up he will be.

Are you alluding to him having got a wildcard then Philip? Would be very pleased to him back!

As a Harris fan I'm a little disappointed I won't get to see him every GP but being replace by Emil will make up for it! Just a damn shame we've missed him for a few years. PHILIPRISING
Thanks for announcing the 1st wildcard I DON'T pick the wild cards But would be VERY surprised if the FIM didn't welcome him back with open arms and doubt that BSI would have any objection either. PHILIPRISING
You've spent the last 3 years slagging him off ! YOUR understanding of slagging is very different to mind. Have criticised his lack of ambition and the reasons why he wouldn't compete at the highest level but have always been at the front of the queue wanting him back in the SGP as he would probably tell you given the number of conversations we have had on the matter. moomin man 76
Mind you, if I had enough money and suggested I would become a major GP sponsor (and/or provide live terestrial television coverage in a particular country), it would be interesting to see if my offer to nominate a rider of my choice from a country not currently represented in the GP series would be accepted by BSI/IMG. Just wondering how much money talks?

screm
If true I think its good to see Emil back in SGP, I just think it should've been through the qualifiers. Had it been injury that forced him out I would be more sympathetic towards him, however Emil dropping out of the GP's was entirely down to the rider and I don't think its fair to give him a route back in this way.

Whether he would have entered this year without the injury is another matter but he has said he will race the qualifiers in 2017 if he doesn't get a wildcard.

And if he does need to do the qualifiers to get back I hope he does so and is back in SGP for 2018.

Can't have been an easy conversation telling the guy he lacked ambition.
